About this product

For his new album Supersonic Flora, composer Walter Hus revisited some of the key works of his career and turned them into brand new spectacular solo piano pieces. The music on the album ranges from Walter Hus' most radical and minimalist inspired compositions from the eighties, through more rounded and melodically oriented music from the nineties to a freshly written jazzy piece in memory of a friend. All of his music was originally written for multiplayer combinations like string quartets or orchestras and had never been intended to be played using only ten fingers. He writes InchI see Supersonic Flora as mainly a present to myself. For long I had been projecting an entirely new recital programme based on my ensemble works from the past. I made a selection of pieces I particularly liked; pieces I wanted to be in physical contact with; pieces that were playable and would sound great on the piano. This proved to be not so easy. I had to do some serious rewriting as most of the original music had strong contrapuntal tendencies. The combination of a network of multiple interweaving voices with a steady ongoing rhythm made it quite complex to recreate the same music in the scope of two hands on the piano!Inch Album Tracks 1. To the Horizon 2. Took My Bath Like Marat (For Francis) 3. Supersonic Flora 4. Sweet Bambi Eurydice 5. From InchMuurwerkInch 6. Swing Out to the Border 7. Anartartic Tic 8. More Dinosaur 9. Hu Vibrational - Epic Botanical Beat Suite - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Hu Vibrational's new album mixes deep percussive African rhythms and Afro - Jazz with elements of hip-hop and electronica. Recorded and mixed at Bill Laswell's state of the art studio, this is the fourth album by Hu Vibrational and for those who bought the previous 3 releases this will not disappoint! Produced and mixed by Adam Rudolph together with longtime Laswell engineer James Dellatacoma, the album features 7 world percussionists along several special guests including Bill Laswell hitting the deep pockets on bass plus Norwegian guitar whiz Eivind Aarset creating ethereal electronic palettes. Joining Rudolph in the groove department are the percussionist from his Go Organic Orchestra project Brahim Fribgane, James Hurt, Matt Kilmer, Tim Kieper, Keita Ogawa and Tripp Dudley. Each of these great drummers has performed extensively worldwide; here they perform Rudolph's rhythm compositions on a wide variety of world percussion. The tracks were then electronically processed and transformed in the mixes into a true ancient to future expression; a dance music style Hu calls InchBoon ghee MusicInch. With 2 acclaimed releases on Soul Jazz Records (Beautiful and Universal Mother) and Scott Heren's (Prefuse 73) Eastern developments tag, Hu Vibrational's deep spiritual music draws on the links between Africa, Jazz music and avant-garde Hip-Hop. Walter / Haeberlin - Facher - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

To unfold a seemingly simple form into an intricate structure The fan epitomizes the transformation from simple to complex. Transitions from clearly defined forms to figures of great heterogeneity are fundamentally inscribed into the two compositions on this album. In Caspar Johannes Walters Inchmetrische DissonanzenInch the solo percussionist and the ensemble transform harmonic relations into rhythmical processes, fanning out a vast sound universe. And in InchSchwankende ZeitInch (Swaying Time) Isabel Mundry relates two adaptions of pieces by Louis Couperin to three new pieces of hers and thus creates with numerous musical and extramusical stimuli a network of references and allusions, of nearness and remoteness. The artwork of the album shows Gerhard Richter's InchAbstraktes BildInch from 1962, commenting in an artistic manner on the thematic concentration of the program from the highlights of the InchMusikfabrik i'm WDRInch series. Richter, one of the most important living German artists, has been a member of the board of trustees of the Ensemble Musikfabrik since 2009. Album Tracks 1. Metrische Dissonanzen 2. Schwankende Zeit
