The Warm Audio Dirty Boy Jr. Overdrive is a compact, pedalboard-friendly guitar effects pedal that combines overdrive, preamp functionality, and analog tube amp emulation in one versatile unit. Developed in partnership with Dirty Boy, it recreates the character of the original Dirty Boy Preamp circuit, delivering touch-sensitive response and amp-like saturation for rhythm playing, lead tones, and direct recording. Its all-analog T.A.E. (Tube Amp Emulation) technology supports a range of sounds, from a subtle clean boost and edge-of-breakup warmth to more saturated overdrive with natural compression. Dedicated Gain, Tone, and Volume controls adjust drive, brightness, and output level, while the Variac control changes the feel and response with added sag and compression. Separate preamp and speaker-emulated outputs provide flexibility for traditional guitar amplifiers, effects returns, mixers, audio interfaces, PA systems, and compatible full-range speakers. The emulated output adds the character of a closed-back 4x12 cabinet for direct signal paths, while the preamp output sends a signal without speaker emulation. True bypass allows the effect to be bypassed when switched off. With a metal enclosure measuring 4.8 x 2 x 2.6 inches and weighing approximately 0.6 lb, the pedal fits easily into a portable guitar rig. Standard 1/4-inch connections and 9V center-negative power support integration with compatible equipment for rehearsals, studio sessions, and live performances.
