The Warm Audio Jude Console Microphone Preamp brings the character of classic British recording consoles into a modern studio setup. Developed in collaboration with Sound Techniques, this single-channel preamp recreates the original A-Range console circuit with dual-discrete 3035 Class-A amplification and custom CineMag USA input and output transformers. The design is suited to recording vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, and other sources that benefit from an external analog preamp. A nine-position Z-Match control offers different microphone-to-preamp interactions, allowing adjustments to gain, transient response, and tonal balance to suit the source and recording approach. A stepped gain control helps set the input level, while the built-in VU meter provides a clear visual reference for the output signal. Connectivity includes rear XLR and 1/4-inch TRS inputs for microphone and line signals, a front instrument input for guitar, bass, keyboards, and synthesizers, and balanced XLR and TRS outputs for connecting to compatible studio equipment. Phantom power, polarity, and line-mode switches provide practical control when working with different sources. Premium Wima and Nichicon audio-grade capacitors, carbon resistors, and hand-wired construction reflect the attention given to the circuit design.
