This solar panel is your only solution to getting power to your Nest Cam without having to look for a power outlet outdoor and in many cases using a long extension cord just to get power. I already have one Nest Cam outdoor that is wired with a 50 ft extension cord. Although it works flawlessly, its not the most efficient way to power your Nest Cam. This solar power works just as good as having it plugged into power. The difference between having your Nest Cam powered by a power cable or this solar panel is that you get notifications almost immediately after motion is detected. If you just use your Nest Cam without being plugged in you will notice a significant delay between the camera discovering motion and receiving the notification to your phone. After using this solar panel, I have noticed that my notifications are coming in right as soon as the motion is discovered. I have been using this for a few months now and I absolutely love it. The installation was very easy. Anyone can install this solar panel in less than 5 minutes. I installed my panel in the direction of the sun so that it can be powered at all times. I do recommend seeing where your sun goes up and down to point the solar panel in the right direction. When I installed my solar panel my Nest Cam was completely dead. Within a few hours, the camera was powered on and has remained on at all times. Never had I had an issue of the camera battery going low or dead. I really like this solar panel because you just install it and forget about it. If you are one of those people using your Nest Cam with just the battery because you don’t have a power outlet nearby outdoors, this is the best solution. It becomes really annoying if you are just using the Nest Cam on the battery charge only and have to take the camera down every time the battery is low to charge it inside. I have no idea why I took so long on deciding if I should purchase this. Now, my only regret is not getting it sooner. I will soon be adding more around the house.

Easy install and allows the Cam (Battery) to remain charged. Wish you had cable size options. The hanging tabs that come with the panel are worthless.

I use these to power google nest cameras. Simple to install and they work well. I've never had to charge my cameras at least for the first year. Not sure about the quality of plastic or the panels for the price. I would do more research than I did.

Doesn't allow for full time capture, still only captures events. Even when setting to 24hr history, it doesn't capture full history, only events. My hard wired camera in my backyard does full 24 hour history with subscription as it should. Had I known I probably would have just hard wired it. The camera recognizes it's on solar and will automatically keep itself charged. It's great if you dont have power nearby. But it's still a bit expensive at the $80 I paid. But it's nice to not have to charge it. Also ensure you have somewhere with lots of sun exposure, mine will sometimes go into power save from lack of charge, and it requires regular cleaning to work optimally. The texture collects a lot of dust.

This solar charger did exactly what we needed it to do! It works great even whens its dirty from the outside elements. It provides power to an outdoor camera we have that doesn't have an electrical outlet nearby.

Very cool super easy install and operation (take care to not the orientation of the pins as the connector will plug in 180 degrees and will not make contact with the pins.) these replace the need for me to recharge my cameras

So the product description doesnt indicate anything, but the panel will only allow charge up to 70% regardless of conditions. I think the 70% charge limit prevents 24/7 monitoring ability but 70% is more than enough for motion detection throughout the day. 2nd flaw is once the panel is on the mount its very difficult to remove (it can be done but i had to very carefully use a small screwdriver as a prybar to release it from the panel prior to mounting (i snapped into the mount to get a photo for HOA approval). Last flaw is the cable is also fixed to the panel so you are limited to the 13' distance from the camera with no way to extend (this prevented my initial cable run from working). They gave little clips with 3m adhesive but i used wiring staples instead and would recommend that route over the clips. Asides from those issues all and all a great

We travel so we can't recharge the camera batteries. This solar charger allows us to have a view where power isn't available dependably year around. We have one that has been in service over a year through our winter's sub zero weather without the battery running down. Highly recommend it.

Works well with the Google Nest Battery camera keeping it alive. Only gripes are the cold weather battery warnings that keep popping up. I live at 9000 ft elevation (2900m) and the cold reduces the battery life. I have had no battery issues while using the solar panels, even after turning off the .

Ok, been using this for months now so i can give my experience. Bought this item for my new Google nest cam for the back yard. 1st off, i live in Texas so there is PLENTY of sun. This item cannot sustain the next cam. I roughly get 3 to 4 days of power before it dies out and i had to turn off the sound to stretch it that far. To get sound the battery would die within 2 days. I know that use depends on activity but in comparison, my outdoor Ring camera running on its solar panel is STILL running. Wanted a better resolution camera, that's why we "upgraded". So either i upgrade to the next level solar panel or go back to Ring......decisions.

For power it’s great. Easy to install but….and a huge but…it will not allow you to record 24/7 while attached to solar. I have the paid subscription and was wondering why all my cameras recorded 24/7 and i was able to scroll through the entire time but my outdoor battery camera did not. I went into settings to see the message “This camera is using solar power. It can't record 24/7 video history unless it's connected to line power.”

I've had two of these for the past three months and I'm pleased to say that they work. I live on Long Island, New York, so not a perpetually warm climate, but these panels have done the job in keeping these cameras charged. Since installing them 3 months ago, I haven't had to charge the cameras once. That's a relief, since the cameras are mounted out of reach and would require me getting on a ladder every time they needed charging. Not anymore thankfully, so I'm satisfied with the purchase. Installation is relatively easy and the cable is extra long and easy to conceive. There is a variant available for the Nest Doorbell (Battery), but unfortunately, that doesn't work as well. But if you want peace of mind in knowing your cameras are always good to go, I would purchase this without hesitation.

I bought this to Power an outdoor camera. It has worked great and I do not have to worry about the battery on the camera going dead.

Seems to be working out well. I have some shade issues so at times it can be difficult to tell however it has seemed to prolong the battery life. I have actually noticed that with a few good days it held a steady battery

If you have a nest camera and you don't anywhere to plug it in. This is definitely worth the purchase! I don't have to worry if the battery is going to die it just simply works!

We added this to our camera outside of our cabin as the existing camera would drain the battery too fast especially in the winter cold weather. We added this to a spot where the sun shines continuously and so far it's worked well. Its cheaper than buying a new camera. It was easy to install and the wire was long enough to connect.

My dad has been using this solar panel to power his backyard Nest Cam and it’s been extremely reliable. In sunny Florida it keeps the camera running continuously with no downtime; charging is steady and installation was straightforward. Cable length and mounting options made positioning easy, and the panel held up well to outdoor conditions. Note: our experience is based on a high-sun location, so performance in cloudier or shaded areas may be reduced. Overall, a solid, low-maintenance power solution for outdoor Nest Cams in sunny climates.
