This was my first time doing anything hardware related to my computer and this was very easy to install. Western Digital provides very detailed steps about how to install this drive and it worked out great. Some people say it is noisy but I haven't noticed any issues with it.

I've bought quite a few of these and have yet to be disappointed.

These drives are rock solid when it comes to reliability and I will add that I have seen better than specified performance when it comes to read and write speeds with this particular drive.

I replaced my WD5000AAKX "Blue" 500 Gb drives with WDWD5003AZEX "Black" 500 Gb drives and got a significant increase in speed during booting and normal operation. The increase from 16Mb to 64Mb of cache really helped speed things up.

Fast, quiet, and reliable. Well worth the small extra price to upgrade from Blue to Black.

It worked; It fit; It is a hard drive - something you plug in and forget and never see again. How long it will last is the $64,000 question. Hey Best Buy, how about asking me every year from now if it still works!

I've used Western Digital for years now and I recommend them over any other company for their customer service and the HD lifespan. They also offer a 5 year warranty!

Drive had no files on it, just a plain empty drive. Installed in the tower easily and reacted to loading files without problems. One reason for the purchase is the reliability of WD Black drives.

I bought this HDD to increase the performance of my desktop system because I do play some very hardware demanding games.It performs very well and meets all of my needs.

The hard drive was well worth the price I paid for it.

See pros and cons. The drive was physically easy to install but would not load software until I re-formatted it and deleted all partitions.

This hard drive replaces another to give me extra storage. Good product
