Got this on a sale for $499. Can't find anything else that comes close in price and quality. Installed it on the Legion 5 gen 10. Didn't have to change anything in the BIOS. Laptop read it instantly on first boot. Tested speeds on AIDA64 and HWINFO. Speeds were as advertised. Now i have 3TB of steam games and 4k movies that can be loaded in an instant

Placed this into a Ugreen Thunderbolt 4 enclosure and this thing works great for all my video files and code compiles.

Drive failed after 3 months. Sent drive in for RMA and originally was offered an upgrade until support claimed it was "damaged" after holding it for a month. Will edit this if I end up getting a replacement or refund.

I installed the WD Black SN7100 4TB in my Lenovo Legion Go 2, and I’ve been really impressed so far. Performance is fast and smooth, but what I like most is that it runs cool and doesn’t seem to use much power, which is a big deal for a handheld. I was a little worried about heat and battery impact with a Gen 4 SSD, but it hasn’t been an issue at all. Load times are quicker, everything feels more responsive, and I haven’t noticed any thermal throttling. One thing worth mentioning is that this drive is extra thin. If you’re upgrading a Legion Go 2, you’ll want to use a thermal pad around 1.5mm thick, because the SSD itself isn’t thick enough to make good contact with the original thermal pad. Once that’s taken care of, installation is straightforward and it works great. Overall, it feels like a really good match for the Legion Go 2 if you want a lot of storage without adding extra heat or power draw.

At first I loaded as a clone drive MBT, you will only get 2TB. Format as GPT and you will get all 4TB of storage, actually 3.7TB. i use this as my gaming storage and work files with a 1TB SSD as a boot disk. Works amazing for the price. I have not done any speed testing but I blink and my game is loaded, that's all I have to say. So good!

Quick read write speeds. Stays cool under use. Great amount of storage.

This is hands down the most power efficient SSD you can buy, with performance as good as any PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive. Compared to the three year old SN850X the power draw is ~60% at full load and ~1% at idle, making it perfect for laptops both from a thermals and battery life perspective. Despite being without a DRAM, read speeds are only an imperceptible 0.7% slower whereas write speeds are a noticeable 9.5% faster. All results are based on Crystal Disk Mark tests on both SSDs which I own.

The WD_BLACK SN7100 4TB NVMe SSD is the kind of upgrade that makes your entire system feel new. It’s fast, reliable, and built for who demand performance without compromise. Whether you’re gaming, editing, or just want the best storage this drive delivers. Even during extended gaming and rendering sessions, temps stayed cool without needing a third-party heatsink. Workloads and doesn’t throttle under pressure.

Has been working well in my laptops. Fit well and works pretty well too

This has very good sustained rates, lower power and less heat. Does not have dram cache which is needed for prolonged writes but otherwise great drive for my laptop.

Fast drive transfered games from main ps5 m.2 drive to this mass storage 2nd m.2 fast like under 1min for 120gb games. Obviously overpriced but that because of world marker conditions.

It installed easily and works as it should. I enjoy the 4tb capacity.

I use my SSD for laptop gaming, and my laptop gets hot and that does not affect the performance at all. Formatting is easy.

Western Digital one worked perfect out of the box for my ps5. Pair with thermal grizzly thermal pads and sabrent heatsink and it wont overheat during demanding gameplay... they sent a sandisk one i am attempting to upgrade my xbox ally x with but somehow it wont allow windows to be reinstalled.... system tests show the drive is being read so i think its a software issue, going to attempt to clone my original drive and dont think theres an issue with the drive at all

Fast and relaible, does not appear to suffer from some of the NVME/SSD failures on windows 11.
