I use this hard drive as my secondary drive, and store mostly games. So naturally I was worried about the 5400rpm and the 64mb buffer cache of this drive. (all my drive in the past has been 7200rmp). But it turns out my Crystal Mark scores shows the WD Blue 1tb 7200 64mb cache, actually had worse read and writes than my 4tb. Great drive for a great price and 2-year warranty from WD. Stay away from amazon as they will sell OEM drives with no warranty.

For 4 TB, this is a great everyday all purpose hard drive. I bought it for my pictures and music storage, and it was super easy to install on day one. Just plugged in to my windows 10 machine and formatted it. Then ready to use! Don't forget to format it under disk managment, without that you wont see it come under My PC.

Expanded my Win 10 desktop. I use this BLUE drive to back up my BLACK boot drive and backup photos . This is a BLUE drive and runs cooler and has a decent speed with no perceptible noise. The black drive I use for booting is noisy, runs warmer but faster.

I've had WD hard drives for years, they've never failed me and this one is no exception. Great price for the size, was easy to install, Windows 10 recognized it right away (had to format it of course).

Using as a back drive for storage. Lots of space for storage and works fast enough for my purpose. I run the OS off an SSD to make it run faster overall.

WD always has quality computer parts in a good price point. easy to install and load up with your software, pictures, etc. had it over a year and still works like a charm. highly recommend this

This 4TB hard drive is great for adding much-needed storage space for any PC. I previously had a 1TB drive and a 250GB SSD but quickly filled them up. I got this for $100 and it's now home to most of my GoPro videos and documents. I see myself buying another one of these soon as I'm have stored 1TB of media since purchasing this one month ago. I still have my 250 GB SSD for the OS and some key programs & games with the 1TB for all other games. I'd recommend this drive for any high storage needs that don't require the higher speeds of an SSD.

This hard drive comes with no mounting screws or instructions. Best Buy sells a kit for working on computers by yourself that contains the necessary screw drivers and screws you'll need to install it. My son and I watched a YouTube video and found it very easy to install and configure inside the desktop. Took only about 30 mins start to finish. You also will need to format the drive after installation but you can find easy step by step instructions online.

I purchased Blue 4TB for my media backup since I have an adaptor to connect internal HD. This works awesome without any issues. Quick speed on writing based on USB 3.0. The only thing I was fond of was that it wasn't in retail packaging. It was more like wholesale package with a brown box.

bought for an external drive with a hot swap box. So far, no problems, which is nice. Runs well so far.

I bought this to replace an external drive that was failing. Quick and easy install. Drive is working perfectly.

I've been using WD hard drives now for many years, and they have worked out great for me. As always, important data should have at least one or more backups (on another hard drive, burned onto a DVD or BluRay data disc, cloud).

I bought this to replace a few older drives and gain more hdd space. I debated on this or a wd black and I saw no real speed difference between this and the black. I have 3 blacks in my tower and this loads games as fast. I also have 4 1 tb solid state drives lol

I got it because I wanted a bigger library space for my games and it does just that and load times are just as good as my other HDD even though this is only 5400RPM and my other is 7200

I have had no problems with this drive, and the speeds are quick. Does what it is asked to do and what more do you need than that?

I just built a computer, and wanted a large drive to hold many photos/videos. This is more than I need, at least for now. I am using this as a data drive and not my OS, as I purchased a Solid State for that.

It is a great hard drive with huge capacity for your file, like photos, movies and much more.

I was running out of space on my FreeNAS box and upgraded to these. The array resilvered without issue and they've been humming along 24/7 since. My NAS is mostly a Plex server and isn't under heavy demand so this grade of drive suits my needs well.

I grabbed a few of these 4TB drives, so I can recover a 12TB Raid5 failure. After the data recovery, I am now using them for a local Plex storage. They did their job and then some!

I installed this great hard drive for my home archive of various media including movies, music, and photos. It serves the purpose well!
