A tried-and true drive

I needed a bigger drive for my NVR. WD Purple is a tried-and-true drive. Best Buy had it in stock (delivered via FedEx), and the price was better than Amazon's, which also had a 2-week delivery backlog.

Dive works very well for the application I needed. It runs read and write 24/7 and has worked flawlessly. The specs are perfect and the quality feels very high/

It’s a Western Digital hard drive. It works, and that’s it. Set it and forget it; there is no other option besides the purple one for surveillance systems.

Horrible shipping

They shipped this device like amazon ships things that might not get broken. Zero packaging inside of the box to hold the drive in place. Sure the box has its own packaging but still it is a very sensitive piece. Woupd not purchase this again as it could lead to early failure.
