Wemo WiFi Smart Plug is smaller than ever and gives you total control over your lights and devices. Turn them on and off from anywhere using the Wemo app or by using your voice with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, or Google Assistant.* You can also set schedules and timers for lights and devices. Or use Away Mode to randomly turn lamps on and off when you’re not home. Sync lights connected to the Smart Plug with the sunset and you’ll never have to come back to a dark home. Smart Plug’s extra-small design—45% smaller than the previous model—won’t cover both outlets, freeing up the second outlet for a second Smart Plug to connect fans, lamps, and other devices.
A: No. It works on the 2.4GHz wifi. You have to switch to that before you can set it up. Otherwise you will likely get an error message saying the accessory is not compatible with your router. Very misleading. This is not specified in the instructions.
A: I set 3 of them up today without the Wemo app. Just added a device in Apple HomeKit then scanned the QR code an was good to go.

A: Hi, Viki. The Wemo WiFi Smart Plug is compatible with the Apple HomeKit app.
Q: Can this be used outdoors if in an outdoor rated outlet?
A: These are not rated for outdoor use, so I would not recommend that. However the company does make outdoor-rated smart outlets.
A: Saved in plug.
Q: When I plug these into a light, can I dim the floor lights through the app?
A: No, Ma7eo. The Wemo WiFi Smart Plug (WSP080) doesn't support dimming feature.
A: Hi, Jbell. As long as the rules are already saved, it should still continue to perform even if the internet is down. However, you won’t be notified. If the Wemo device is no longer detected from the Wemo App, it is possible that the connection is down.
