An Orc of withered years and many wounds, upon his seamed visage lay records of long strife and harsh labour. Sharkû was a master of the great Wild Wolves, those fell Wargs, whose cunning and savagery few could tame. Long had he dwelt among them, bearing upon his flesh their piercing bites and tearing claws. Yet he endured and, honed by skill and scar, savagely led his pack of unrelenting hunters. Originally created for the film trilogy, Sharkû held a unique place in Middle-earth, and quickly became a memorable bad guy for audiences around the world. Now, we have had the joy of revisiting him once again, transforming one of our earliest creations into a finely crafted collectible. Here at Weta Workshop, passion is the driving force behind our work. To breathe life once more into Sharkû and his viciously wolfish Warg has been both a trip down memory lane and a reopening of our creature vault. Sculptor Luke Hawker, who has been part of Weta Workshop’s Middle-earth story since the very beginning, drew deeply from that original source of inspiration. With great care, he refined every detail, from the rough, tattered skins and pelts to the textures of the Orc’s prosthetics, ensuring they capture the same raw energy that first fuelled our designs for the films. It takes hundreds of hours to design, sculpt, model make, mold, and paint the prototype for each new Middle-earth piece. Whether it be a prop replica, beautiful environment, or iconic character, we treat our collectibles with the same level of care and attention to detail that we bring to our film work. In the heart of the Rohan™ rises the Golden Hall, its thatched roof gleaming under sunlit skies like a crown upon the hill of Edoras. Above the hall’s doors, overseeing the hillside, shines a golden sun motif, carved upon the weathered wood.
