I would love to review it— however… It has been backordered for two months! We have no ice! It’s 100° out! Lol perhaps you can help get it here and then I would be happy to review it!!!

Whirlpool - 15" 50-lb Freestanding Icemaker - Good so far, needed an ice maker with the drain pump built-in and this is a good option and a good price performer. Wish I could pick the black front with drain pump but it's only available in stainless for some reason. The other model with regular gravity drain is available with different finishes. Not visible when installed but my unit does have some corners that don't quite come together correctly....little bit of poor workmanship.

Like others, it dies after exactly 2 years and 1 week - compressor leaking per the service center. I paid $500 for a protection plan, but that just get's me a credit for what I paid for it minus the $500. So now I need to re-buy it for $500 more and I "lost" the $500 from the protection plan. Will look elsewhere in the future. Why are ice machines so hard to make reliable? Also, this machine can be hard to clean. tiny space and many screws to remove.

Worked well for 2 years. Do the math and you will see that any ice maker lasts this long so why spend over 2k on one. And if you think the $500 protection plan will cover you then guess again. My "repair" is into 2 weeks and parts are going to take 1-2 mths more. Any bets on whether or not those parts are the final ones ordered? And no rush on their part since I have had to call to motivate them at every turn .Plan on speaking to someone in India for your "service" and canned messages of regret about your problem.

Has been serviced twice in the first two years. Not recommended for exterior use in hot tropical climates.

Best Buy has rescheduled delivery now 3 times. They told me it was in stock when I bought it. This is the 4th machine I have purchased and they have all run well for 4-5 years. Quiet and efficient, but a bit pricy. Unfortunately in this market segment I have not found any better alternatives. I would recommend, but with this understanding.

If you are looking for a built-in ice maker, look no further. It makes perfect clear ice, that complements your mixed drinks or soft drinks. No need to buy the more expensive Kitchenaid version, because it is the same ice maker, just different handles.

Double the capacity of our last one Kitchen aid. Works great and really enjoying it. Installation crew were thoughtful and professional.

Dead exactly 1 week after 2 year Best Buy warranty ended :(
