Q: Does this have to be hard wired or do you have the option of a plug-in cord?
A: It has to be hard wired, but the process is very simple and instructions are included.
Q: Can this product be wall mounted?
A: yes
A: Yes you need to turn off the power/breaker to install this hood. We had an electrician install it for us.
Q: What size bulb fits this product?
A: This Whirlpool® Range Hood uses a 20V 75W Maximum light bulb with a E26 base. We hope this helps!
Q: Can this be used over a gas range so I do not need to vent it through my roof?
A: Yes!! That’s what I have. It’s not as efficient as full venting but it works well enough. Just make sure to change and clean the filters often.
Q: Can this be mounted to a ceiling over an island?
A: Hi Meliss, thank you for your inquiry. We apologize, but the installation manual only offers directions for under cabinet installations. It is therefore not recommend to install in a ceiling. We hope this helps!

Looks great, but not a one person job
Once this was installed, I was completely happy with it. It looks great, is quiet, provides good light, and does the job for a great price. However, this product does seem to hint that you could put this up on your own, but this is definitely not the case (the only reason I gave 4 stars). The little clips on the back that you are supposed to hang it up on are pretty flimsy. But if you can just get a buddy to help, it's not difficult.

It seems to work good so far and is quiet...I am reasonably satisfied with it...But it does show finger prints!
