A: I dont believe you can leave the top open but it only fills with water on a couple settings.. Laundry soap and softener is in back under lid there is a drawer, bleach is in front..

Quiet Washer - Deep Capacity
I really do like this washer because it has a deep capacity. It can handle King size covers and washes towels and jeans with ease. The knobs for the settings are very straight forward but whatever you choose make sure to hold the Start Button and wait until all the 4 lights (for the washer settings) are a solid white then let go out the Start Button; the washer will then sense the load capacity and will start to wash. There is no signal when the load is done (not a dealbreaker to me) and it washes very quietly, you seriously don’t hear it as loud.
