Remove excess moisture with this Whirlpool dehumidifier. It removes up to 70 pints of water from a 2,000 sq. ft. area to keep you comfortable during humid weather, and its LED display lets you know its status at a glance. This Whirlpool dehumidifier operates at temperatures as low as 41 degrees F, so it can be used in a basement.
Q: What temperature should I put in the basement
A: It needs to be over 41 deg f or 5 deg c
Q: will this connect to my home Wi-Fi network so that I can access the dehumidifier with my phone?
A: No. But you might be able to put a Wi-Fi plug outlets in the wall and then plug . The dehumidifier into it and that would let you turn it on and off.(. With a Wi-Fi outlet powered by your phone)
A: My new unit always shows the incorrect room humidity level. I placed my humidity gauge right next to the unit. The unit is always off by 10 to 15%RH. I would suggest purchasing a small humidity gauge (I bought mine on Amazon) and use that as the real humidity level, then adjust your unit to a level that will stop when the true humidity level has been reached that you desire from the small humidity gauge. Hope that helps.
Q: Where is the drain hose hook up back or side, and do you have to elevate it to drain properly?
A: Drain hose hook up on back. It is about a foot off of the floor, so you can bend your garden hose to direct water down into sump pump pit. I used a washing machine water hose line as the drain hose (just cut off one end for length. used it cause I had one lying around and didn't want to spend any more money purchasing a garden hose.) Hope this helps.
