I was looking for a streamer to connect to a pair of powered bookshelf speakers. I needed it to support Google Music, Amazon Music Unlimited, and hopefully be able to play tracks off my network. The WiiM Pro does all of that. The firmware currently supports Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, Tidal, Spotify, Pandora, Qobuz, and several Internet radio providers (iHeartRadio, TuneIn, etc.). They also have subscription services like Calm Radio and business-ready services for royalty-free music streaming in retail and office situations. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that they have a Plex client since all of my music is available on my Plex server. Setup was a breeze - connect it, install the WiiM Home app, plug the unit in and follow the prompts after the app detects it. I didn't even need to look at the manual. For my system I connected the analog out to a pair of Edifier R1280DB speakers. I locked the WiiM Pro's volume and control levels with the Edifier's knob. I connected my CD player to it via toslink and my turntable to the audio ins. This allows the WiiM Pro to serve as the switcher for the system, and the auto-detect feature makes switching inputs a breeze. Note that it will not switch to an external input if actively playing a stream, but if it is idle it will switch as soon as it detects sound in either the optical or analog inputs. The WiiM home app is easy to use and highly customizable (e.g. hiding services you don't use). For setup, you use the app to connect services like Amazon Music, but the account information is stored on the device so anyone with the app can use them without having to log in separately. The downside is that the device is linked to a single account so other people only have access to the signed-in account's playlists and such. WiiM allows you to customize all of the device's settings as well as the settings for various streaming services. You can control the output levels, such as the voltage for the analog and the bitrate for the digital out. Basically you can adjust almost anything about the device (way too much to list out here). You can also sync more than one WiiM device (it doesn't need to be identical) and stream inputs to more than one speaker. I plan to eventually get another WiiM device and set this up. The sound quality is decent. In my setup it is definitely an upgrade from Bluetooth as well as casting to my old Chromecast Audio. The included DAC chip is nothing to write home about, but it isn't junk. This combined with the Edifiers is more than adequate for my use case. The sound is clean and there is good stereo separation. Additionally, the WiiM Pro will pass a bit-perfect signal through its digital out if you have a system with a better DAC/analog output stage, meaning if you just need to add streaming to an otherwise good system it's an inexpensive way to do it. The cost is what makes this great. I'd wanted a streamer for some time, but the cost kept me from getting one. This one hit the right price point and had more than I expected. I don't have any dislikes at this time. It fit my needs perfectly for a great price and so far is working well. If you are looking for an Internet streamer on a budget, this is definitely worth checking out.
