After much research we decided on this Windster Hood. I can’t say enough good about it. We love the look of it, it functions very well and has 3 speeds. The led lights are bright too. I would recommend having them install it, done in a flash. On average I use mostly the first speed, and it’s quite.

I like the design of this range hood, it’s simple, price is reasonable and it fits well under the cabinet. One problem is that you have to press twice to change the fan level and it takes a couple seconds to start working, the noise of the fan is loud from #2-3. Overall I like it. Let’s see if it lasts because some products from Best Buy start having a problem after 6-10 mos. I guess all electric appliances nowadays have issue. I just have to buy the extended warranty for the peace of mind.

Love the features and lighting. Hate that there is blue light is constantly on. Not sure the reason for that. But it is taking a start away from overall rating.

I chose this because it got good reviews, looked good and is the 6" height I needed (My granite backsplash was installed all the way up to the bottom of the old unit that was 6" height. The height turns out to be a critical dimension in a replacement situation, unless I wanted to be cutting granite!) This product looks sharp and seems to function well. It was relatively easy to install. Oddly, the power cord is hard-wired, but is not long enough to get to an electrical box further than a few inches from the unit. So you will need to BYO pigtail and j-box along with venting. It is very quiet at the low setting, and quite loud at the high setting. But it is loud because it is moving lots of air, which is what you want. Overall, I am very satisfied.

The hood is excellent construction. The top visible area is made of one piece sheet, which I really like. The fan is very powerful and lights add extra beauty to my cooktop and countertop. But there are some areas which can be improved with very few efforts. We paid $479, and I strongly believe that we have the right to have a detail installation instruction. If that hood is lightweight, it will be very easy to install. But it is heavy. Therefore, I strongly believe that the manufacturer should include the details installation details with some trick and tips. The buttons are not very good quality. They are not firmly installed, they move a little. Function wise they are ok, but price wise it needs to be firmly installed. Wire connections are not secure. Three pieces of wires just coming out from the top of the hood. My old hood which might be less than $100 has an electrical box where wires are connected and secure in the box. The filter latches are very poorly constructed with very poor quality metal. One gentle wrong move will bend them easily. When removing I have to make sure that the latches are out of the holes completely than pull down. Also to unlock, if I push back the latches little harder, the latches may be stuck inside the filter, and don't come out. Sadly the warranty will be voided if this thing is not installed by a professional. The manufacturer should realize that there is a handyman in every house, and everyone wants to save money.

I installed this as a replacement to a cooktop down-draft unit...sure not a full comparison because down-draft units are total garbage, but... This unit is heavy compared to most cheapo units, and the fit/finish is fantastic! The buttons on the front are easy to use and responsive, and the fastest fan mode (3) moves incredible amounts of air. No more nasty cooking smells with this unit in your house. Removable grease trays pop into the dishwasher and come out sparkling clean to magnetically snap back into place...how much easier can it be? This is a value in my humble opinion, as it has amazing suction, beautiful finish, and so easy to use/clean.

The Windster hood is very well made and looks good, too. It will be easy to clean the underside as it has sturdy, removable parts. There are three settings for the fan. We mainly use the first two settings but are happy to know if we really need a heavy duty fan, there is one more level. We do wish there was more than one light setting, but we are becoming accustomed to that. One irritating thing (to us) is that the blue light on the control panel never turns off. We have solved this issue by putting a thin, malleable, rectangular-shaped magnet over it at night when we head to bed. Overall we are very pleased.

We purchased kitchen Aid one but it could not be installed into out cabinet. After returning it, we searched and got recommendation for some model and picked up this one. BestBuy installation team did great job to install it and this is really great product for both performance and looking. Windster hood looks much better than kitchen Aid one with only half price. Up to second speed, it is not loud but still move well the air. We rarely used max speed. Highly recommend this product if you are looking for under-cabinet hood.

36' wide range hood looks way more expensive than it is. Very simple, clean design fits in with all other kitchen appliances. Very quiet on low speed but really moves air on high. It was very easy to install - took my wife and I about 20 minutes total because we were able to use existing ducts. Highly recommend!

We really like the look of this range hood. It's not too large and it looks very streamlined. The light is bright and the fan is very quiet, even on the higher speed levels. A great purchase at a nice price point.

To all manufactures of 36 inch hoods- WE ALL DO NOT HAVE ROOM FOR THE FANCY ONES. BE VERY CAREFUL - measurements not accurate and know the outlet shape you are replacing- the salesman dont even check the sped sheets- you get stuck spending extra hundreds of dollars trying to get it to fit. DO NOT BUY AT FLINT TOWNSHIP ,MI store- many issues with that store- NEVER BUY IT ON LINE THINKING YOU CAN INSTALL IT YOURSELF!!!

Simple good looks and easy to install. I was remodeling my kitchen and this was a nice compliment to my stainless steel appliances. The fan and light work great.

We purchased a Kitchen Aid hood and had to return 4 of them to to being damaged or defective. This hood appears to be higher quality, looks great and blends well with our other Kitchen Aid appliances.

We had a cabinet above the range top and had limited space for a desperately needed hood. This one fits the need perfectly.

hard getting used to a different arrangement of controls but that's to be expected after 40 years with the former hood.
