Wizards of The Coast - Magic: The Gathering Foundations Beginner Box

The Magic: The Gathering Foundations Beginner Box by Wizards of the Coast is the best way for beginners to start playing Magic: The Gathering. With a friend to play against, this box will teach you both how to play Magic: The Gathering. For $30.00 currently (a fair price) the Magic: The Gathering Foundations Beginner Box includes ten themed jumpstart decks (that's enough cards to make three standard sixty card decks, with some extras), two reference cards, a reference guide, two "How to Play" guides, two playmats, two icosahedral dice, some tokens, and more. The jumpstart decks include two themes for each mana type (white plains: cats, healing) (blue islands: pirates, wizards) (black swamps: vampires, undead) (red mountains: goblins, inferno) (green forests: elves, primal). With that many options you can really get an understanding of how each mana type operates and choose which mana types are your favorite to include in your decks, also the variations in gameplay are endless. The cards included in the Magic: The Gathering Foundations Beginner Box were specifically chosen with beginner players in mind making it easy to understand the mechanics of gameplay. The tutorial game is cats vs vampires so don't shuffle those decks for the first game because they are in a special order to teach you both how to play. If you want to start playing, or know someone who might want to start playing Magic: The Gathering right now there is no better way to start learning how to play than the Magic: The Gathering Foundations Beginner Box.

Great for introducing my kid to magic cards, able to try various combinations.

Like the ease of use to learning the game and mechanics. comes with plenty of cards to mix up decks as well.

This thing is perfect for people learning how to play MTG. It guides you every step of the way and comes with some really cool cards that you can use in future decks you build. I would highly recommend learning this way before you jump right into other styles like commander.

As a mtg player, this set has alot of lands and various useful cards for getting someone into the game. We even did an opening video for it though we learned afterwards that all the beginner kits have the exact same cards in them. As of the current time, you pay for this box approx what the cards themselves would be bulk, which is actually pretty nice.
