I made my first laser weld today on some scrap 6061 T6 aluminum and was surprised at how well it went. 3” long bead took 5-6 seconds and provided 100% penetration. This will be a game changer for me especially on aluminum and will replace my TIG unit for many welding projects. Highly recommended!

I truly didn’t expect this machine to arrive the way it did. I felt like it was shipped in a first class seat in an aircraft. I can’t wait to get started

I was extremely excited about the possibilities of what this machine is capable of, but the way it is advertised at start as a laser welder/ cnc cutter with a picture of the whole unit and then it goes into the (this is a all in one spill) leading you to think that you are getting the all in one for $7399 when in fact it's not. All you get for $7399 is a laser cutter/ welder the whole unit is $16000. The advertisement is very misleading and intentional and that's why I will not be purchasing any Xtool machines which is disappointing cause I know what this machine is capable of and how much money can be made with it. It's more about the principles than the money. I gave 4 stars cause I believe that this machine is worth the $16000 but the misleading advertisement is the reason I'm writing this review and why I will not be a xtool customer.

Metal work has not been my background, but has always been a material I have been fascinated with, especially for crafting and small scale projects. I was impressed at the packaging and organization of these machines through the shipment process. For the cost especially, it was clear that the pallets were designed for safe transit, and that everything arrived in top condition. Set up was straightforward and easy to navigate with the included tools, documentation, and video support. The space saving features of the CNC especially impressed. While multiple hands were needed to help get the cnc into its final home, assembly was an easy solo project. Working in Studio, the initial set up and calibration were a breeze and I was cutting the same afternoon all pieces were assembled in place. I have opted to primarily use the compressor and air dryer, and have achieved great, clean results so far. Material testing has been easy to set up to better dial in my settings. I love the ability to "do it all" with this set up. Cutting flat stock has been great, but assembling and welding it has been a blast. I am largely a welding novice, but the included feeder and laser grip have made it easy to quick achieve clean and repeatable results. I have a lot to learn still and am excited to experiment down the road with the more advanced settings that will allow me to hone and deepen my skills.

This looks like a powerful all-in-one metal solution—perfect for small shops that need pro-level welding and cutting without a huge learning curve or multiple machines.

Excellent for small-scale CNC cutting and laser welding using a variety of materials and thicknesses. Flexibility in using the air compressor and dryer versus traditional gases adds a financially efficient option. Cutting larger pieces is possible, but improvements are needed to make one fluid continuous piece beyond 24”.

After getting the machine up and running the cutting and cleanliness of the final part coming off the laser table is un mached. I've been in the metal business for over 30 years. The eas of programming for me was not the steep there are videos for anything you may run into that might be alittle tough to figure out

We've been thoroughly impressed with the xTool Metal Fab Cutter. From the moment we unboxed it, the build quality and cutting precision stood out. Whether you're working with stainless steel, aluminum, or other metals, this machine delivers clean, consistent results that rival far more expensive industrial setups. The only drawback we've encountered is the lack of Wi-Fi connectivity. While not a dealbreaker, it does mean transferring files via USB or cable, which adds a small step to the workflow. Hopefully future models will include wireless support for added convenience. Overall, the xTool Metal Fab Cutter is a fantastic investment for any serious metalworking operation. It’s reliable, precise, and built to perform just be ready to go old-school with file transfers.

I’ve been using the xTool MetalFab for a few months now, mostly in CNC mode, and it’s been great. The cabinet setup which I use the most makes everything easy, The cuts are clean and accurate, and the overall build quality looks and feels solid. I’ve also tried the welding side of it and was surprised by how good the welds came out — smooth and strong with very little cleanup. The software is straightforward and easy to learn. Overall, it’s been a really solid machine that streamlines working on metal projects.

I own a CNC plasma cutter and a MIG welding station. When I saw that XTool was releasing a CNC fiber laser and laser welder, I jumped on the offering. The learning curve is pretty much non-existent and the results are amazing. Whether I am cutting pieces in the CNC or doing handheld welding, the process is so straightforward that it has now made my plasma cutter and MIG welding setup obsolete. I would highly recommend anyone that is looking to get into the world of metal fabrication strongly consider the MetalFab. With the release of new features like engraving (and the MaxClean wand), this machine will grow with your experience and capabilities. I highly recommend MetalFab to anyone looking for a quick and painless turn-key solution!

I have enjoyed cutting detailed designs using the cnc feature of the MetalFab. It is very precise. Setup was fairly straightforward and we watched the setup video to help us. We have been cutting 14 and 16 gauge steel. There is minimal dross on the back. We are currently using compressed air and plan to try oxygen in the near future. We love that it is enclosed and are happy with our purchase so far.

My first few attempts at engraving/cutting metal were a bit challenging, but as I practiced more and watched tutorials on social media, my skills improved significantly. For instance, one project that helped me master this skill was creating custom engraved nameplates for friends which really brought working with metal to life! What I truly love about the MetalFab is its versatility in engraving metal, whether it's for gifts, jewelry-making, or even home decor projects. Engraving is something new that was added and I'm looking forward to gaining even more experience using the feature. While I am pleased with the product overall, one area that can use improvement is its supply of welding materials. For instance, during my order for various supplies like welding wire, many of my orders were canceled because materials became out of stock. This has made it challenging to purchase materials from XTool at times which lead to missed opportunities in using the welding function. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend the MetalFab laser cutter for metal cutting and engraving! Its versatility, user-friendly software, and great community tutorials have made my experience with this device truly wonderful.
