Beatemup style rpg game with lots of cool side eastereggs and mini games with a twist

This franchise has easily become one of my favorites. It’s got serious moments, but it never takes itself too seriously. Super fun, and I’m always laughing while playing. Think of it like watching an anime, but honestly even better. ​My favorite part about Yakuza is the Japanese audio. It’s pretty normal everyday speech mixed with some tough-guy slang, so it's awesome if you’re trying to learn the language. ​The only real downside is the whole key card thing. I hate key cards. I either want a digital game for the convenience of clicking and playing, or a physical cart to save storage space on my Switch. Key cards give you the worst of both: you still gotta swap the card, but it still eats up your storage space. Plus, that ugly white box on the cover totally ruins the art. ​Rant aside, this game and the other two Yakuza titles I’ve played are top-tier for me now. If you’re into anime, drama, beat 'em ups, RPGs, or just walking around Japanese cities, definitely give it a shot.

Love this game on all levels. I joy the switch version always fun to play.
