This security key works great and has some nice extra features. My other keys are USB A, so it is nice to have this USB C key. It is small enough that I can leave it plugged into my laptop all of the time. If you need a small key, this is the one for you. It has metal tabs on both sides to activate it by touch. Some of my larger keys have a gold disc, which always seems to be on the worng side to access. Like most keys, it has a flashing light to tell you that it is waiting for your touch. Its small size is also an issue: if my laptop is lost or stolen, the key is in it already, which defeats the purpose of having a "what you have" key in the first place. Because it is small, it is easy to lose. It would be nice if it had a ring or hole to attach a string to – but that would make it bigger. Yubico has a great website with FAQs, explanations about how these keys work, and the differences between models. Their free email support is good. Yubico has a neat app "Yubico Authenticator." It "reads" lots of info from and adjustments to the key, like serial number and firmware version. It allows you to do a factory reset to erase your codes. One thing I miss is an app to track all my security keys. Yubico doesn't make one and I can't find any other sources. I'd like to list each key by type, serial number, what codes/sites are stored on it. The only advice I've heard is to enter that manually in a spreadsheet. It does help that the key’s serial number is stamped on the side of the key, which means I can identify which key it is by looking it up in my spreadsheet.

This is exactly the item I need to make it easy to access my nicehash account because it has started to become so convoluted with mining and keeping it all secure in one place so I love this idea and I can keep it on my keychain and it is very tiny

Difficult to configure and use. I was hoping for something a bit more "plug and play". I want additional functionality and simplistic features. The size is great, and if you have multiple USB-C ports on your device, it will easily be hidden and out of the way to prevent snagging on stuff. I tried it on a dongle and directly into a port on my laptop. Perhaps I am looking for something that this doesn't offer, but this is inexpensive and compact, and for the correct user, it could be perfect

Wish I knew about the YubiKey sooner. Saves a whole lot of time and is easy to use. I've had issues with my online security and this is exactly what I needed. I feel much more safer with this especially with the physical touch authentication. It was super easy to set up and is very convenient. This is a must have for anyone who wants to properly secure their online data. 5 stars!

The YubiKey 5C Nano is a tiny but powerful security key that gives me peace of mind. It fits flush in my laptop’s USB-C port and works seamlessly with all my accounts. Setup was easy, and I barely notice it’s there—until I need it. Just wish it were a little easier to remove.

This is an excellent product for managing passwords and enabling multi-factor authentication across multiple websites. Installation and setup are straightforward, making it accessible even for less tech-savvy users. The fingerprint reader is compact and functions reliably on laptops. Its small form factor makes it ideal for leaving plugged into a laptop, offering both convenience and enhanced security without compromising portability. However, desktop users may encounter limitations unless front-facing USB-C ports are available. Overall, it significantly streamlines the MFA process while maintaining a strong security standard.

A little challenging to get started. Once you get the 1st couple of apps enrolled, easy from then on. A prominent link to setup instructions and a detailed video on enrolling an app like ebay or something most people have would be helpful. Once you get all of your apps that use 2 factor ID enrolled, it does save time getting codes and finding you phone to view them. I would recommend. Also it is tiny so get a spare.

Initially I was under the impression this was a mobile device however due to it's size (super small) that would make it not practical. However this is not a limitation and instead a feature. I've grown to use to use this device from never to seldom to frequently. Considering a second key as a backup

I’m a big fan of this device because it’s so protective. The Yubikey works with Apple as a way to keep your Apple account safe. It’s way more secure than using a regular Authenticator app. The only thing I wish it had was a way to attach it to a keychain.

Do not buy this it is too small to use in the USB-C ports on a PC. It might be good for a laptop. It is difficult to touch as required in setting it up and it is hard to remove to swap another yubikey. Buy the 5Ci, it is bigger and still small and compact and easy to use.

Useful for keeping passwords and bitcoin info. Con: I have one laptop that has USB C port. My two desktops and two other laptop don't have USB C ports. I cannot use dongle with my devices.

Laptops were originally designed to be "on the go" devices and if you're like me, that's exactly how you use it: I constantly have it in my vehicle as I go from field tech job to job. It's very convenient but also very risky which is why having reliable two-factor authentication is key for securing your data. This key is extra convenient since when I've used standard USB drives, I've accidentally bumped them which has caused the end plugged into the laptop to come loose from the body of the device. So, it's great that this one is of a compact size that sits as flush as possible against the laptop, PC, mobile device, tablet or on whatever device you're using it. This is also important since it requires a physical touch so you won't risk that sort of damage.
