Originally we were concerned that the dual finish of matte AND high polish would have been weird to get used to, instead it lends to the beauty of this set. Pieces are balanced and have just the right amount of weight to hold comfortably. Added this service of 8 to an additional set we received as a wedding gift: Service of 16 now! Made in China. 10/18 Stainless steel. We wash them in the dishwasher with no problem. Would recommend
