A: I spoke to in Microsoft ambassador over Twitter and they said that there was a first version of the elite 2 and there were many problems like the outstanding bumper problem that was in the elite 1 carried over to the elite 2. Microsoft pulled the product and are trying to now put the 2nd iteration in to production without telling any of the 1st iteration owners that there are huge defects with their controllers. My elite 2 that I bought in December broke in February. The Microsoft ambassador was not able to confirm if the issue that broke my controller was fixed in the new version. My right bumper broke.
A: I just got my 8th controller today after ordering a few days ago. Lot number 2002 (meaning it was made in the 2nd week of this year, 2020). Without testing in game, I can say that the sticks were the best feeling sticks I've had so far. They had no play/wiggle whatsoever, which is a first for me after going through 8 of these. That being said, both the A and the Y buttons worked at most 50% of the time and the B button worked closer to 80-90% of the time when testing in the Xbox Accessories app and going through menus. Basically, as of the second week of January, they have still been coming from the factory faulty. Because I still have a GSP plan, I will be continuing to buy and return these controllers until I finally receive a functional Item. If one ever comes, I will let you know, especially if they actually send the new model (model FST-00008 as opposed to original model FST-00001) that I keep placing orders for that they continue fulfilling by sending older models.

Love this controller and will always stick with this brand. The customization is amazing and has top-tier performance. The weight, grips, and overall build are far superior to other brands. If you are thinking about buying it - do it! Have fun playing with the paddles and mapping them to whatever feels best for each game. It will feel weird at first but makes gaming so much more enjoyable and competitive. Highly recommend keeping all 4 paddles on for almost every game. Also, trigger locks are OP! BIG plus, I have not experienced any stick drift with any of these controllers. I have had 4 in total. Microsoft is a genius for The Xbox Accessories app, which allows you to make profiles for every game that you can easily switch to with a press of just one button. Only one con with this generation and the original Elite: The LB button and only the LB button eventually gives out. This happens usually within a year, but I also use it frequently. This seems to be common in all the forums I have read. Bring it back into Best Buy within a year and they will send it off to Microsoft to fix. Est. 2 week wait Highly recommend getting the Geek Squad Warranty if you decide to purchase for a faster turnaround.
