Hard rockin' music for todays hi-octane enthusiast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At $10 the price is right for a best buy exclusive. The music is more in the vein of Godsmack IV and the packaging is ok for your basic wallet/booklet/cd format. Nothing jaw dropping just cool to have.

Good album from a great band
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll just start by saying that any new material from Godsmack is always a good thing, and is worth a purchase. As a fan since the first album, I have enjoyed every album that they have released since. With that said, this new album is a very solid piece of work, although it seems a little lacking. The songs are good, but most seem a little too straightforward and simple. With a few exceptions, most songs start and finish without showcasing the bands' true potential. Some songs could've benefited greatly from a little more length to include more guitar work/solos, and a drum solo from Sully or Shannon would've been appreciated("Turning to Stone" could've used it). Overall, this album is still a good album from a great band, it just could've been better. If you are a Godsmack fan and like their previous material, you will most likely find a lot to like on this album.

Another good offering by a solid band
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Godsmack continue to stay true to their roots, but have added a little maturity to the mix. Not as heavy as I would've liked (a'la their first few albums) but you can definitely tell they have matured as the musicianship has in my opinion gone up a notch along with the songwriting. I've heard complaints that all their songs sound the same and I couldn't disagree more and I especially paid attention to that while listening through this album. If you think it's all the same you're not really listening. The opening track is the typical radio single with a nice hook and then they carry through the album with some strong tracks and a few nice changes to the musical structure. All in all, if you're more than just a casual listener and have at least a few of their past albums, this one is definitely worth adding to the collection.

Sully & the band still have it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been following this band since Day One! The songs are heavy, music is intense and the performance is outstanding. Godsmack never disappoints. The live albums are true to the studio versions. 1000 HP is slightly mellower, but it is true Godsmack. There are never any compromises with this band. They are hard driving and always give more than you pay for live and recorded entertainment. It is heavy metal at its best. It is not just noise pretending to be music. Godsmack moves you on different levels each time you listen to them. You do not have to be a fan to enjoy them.

A nice edition to the Godsmack discography
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like the kind of music that Godsmack has put out in the past, you will probably like this too. If you've never liked Godsmack than this album isn't gonna change anything. Ive listened through the album about 5 times now any really like about half of the songs: 1000hp, FML, Something Different, and Locked & Loaded are my favorites. There are very few albums where I like every single song so this is no cause for alarm. Having said that, its just nice to go out and support the bands that you really like by getting their albums. Its a great way to say thank you and allows them keep making the music that you love :)

If Godsmack is one thing, it's consistent.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love Godsmack, but it feels as if they've been writing the same song for years. The songs are heavy, but the lyrics feel as if they're dumbed down for the lowest common denominator of man. Dont't get me wrong, I like to sing a good cuss word from time to time, but when it's the foundation that's where I lose a little interest. Overall, it's a fun hard rock album, crank it up and have fun with it!

With extra HP
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is Godsmack as usual. It's a gritty collection of songs with a bonus song on the Best Buy Exclusive edition. 1000hp is a song retrospecting their beginnings and a little reminiscing in Godsmack style. They sing of how they got to where they are today. They have always been a band to stick tot heir roots and style. Definitely for any Rock fan.

Hard rock fans rejoice.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like hard rock that has great lyrics that you can understand, this is the album for you. This album takes you back to the Awake days. Percussion is awesome, bass line is super smooth, guitar is constant in every song, Sully's voice and lyrics are spot on. This is a must have, not just for Godsmack fans, but any fan of true hard rock.
