Island 50th Anniversary Special Edition. There are few musicians whose music has indisputably advanced humanity. Reggae figurehead Bob Marley--a songwriter, poet, activist, and visionary--is one of them. The idea that a single-disc collection could represent the depth, breadth, and power of Marley's achievement is far-fetched, but LEGEND makes an excellent attempt. Every single one of its tracks is outstanding, and the artist's different faces--revolutionary (InchGet Up Stand UpInch), romantic (InchIs This LoveInch), devout Rastafarian (InchBuffalo SoldierInch), and prophet (InchOne Love/People Get ReadyInch) are equally represented. In addition to his moving message of love and unity, Marley is a master songwriter, as the timelessness of songs like InchStir It Up,Inch InchI Shot the Sheriff,Inch and the gorgeous, poignant InchRedemption SongInch proves. Of course, a true sampling of Marley's output would require some early ska material, the Wailer's debut (CATCH A FIRE), the definitive NATTY DREAD, and his later-period opus EXODUS, but LEGEND provides a highly satisfying, if brief, overview of Marley's genius. A record well suited to any location, season, or time of day, it has proven universal in its appeal. The music herein is as essential as air. (Note The Deluxe Edition CD includes two bonus tracks and an additional disc of remixes.) Album Tracks 1. Is This Love 2. No Woman, No Cry 3. Could You Be Loved 4. Three Little Birds 5. Buffalo Soldier 6. Get Up Stand Up 7. Stir It Up 1. One Love/People Get Ready 2. I Shot the Sheriff 3. Waiting in Vain 4. Redemption Song 5. Satisfy My Soul 6. Exodus 7. Jamming

Diamond Eyes works the way good records used to; each song carries you a little further away from your crappy day until finally, you've been transported to a place that feels a whole lot better than where you started. There's also a newfound sense of purpose that makes Deftones' sixth album stand out. The band recorded the album after their best friend and bassist Chi Cheng sustained a debilitating brain injury from a car accident in November of 2008. - The tangle of Stephen Carpenter's woozy, undulating guitar work and Moreno's soaring then secretive vocal style is the bittersweet dynamic behind each of Deftones' records, including Diamond Eyes. The friction drives the music as much as it does the players, though it doesn't always make life easy for childhood friends Carpenter and Moreno. InchWhat makes us work?Inch asks Carpenter. InchChino will give you the exact opposite answer that I do. That's the way it is with us-we contradict each other constantly but it's also what makes our music what it is-intense and different.Inch Album Tracks 1. Diamond Eyes 2. Royal 3. CMND/CTRL 4. You've Seen the Butcher 5. Beauty School 6. Prince 7. Rocket Skates 8. Sextape 9. Risk 10. 976-Evil 11. This Place Is Death 1. Rocket Skates 2. Sextape 3. Risk 4. 976-Evil 5. This Place Is Death
