Killer Mike - Michael - VINYL LP

In February 2024, Tav Falco and his incomparable Panther Burns descended upon Sam Phillips Recording Studio in Memphis, Tennessee to record their 14th studio album, Desire On Ice. The result is a career-spanning collection of Falco's original compositions, with song selections highlighting various stages of the Panther Burns' 45 year tenure. In addition to the groups current line-up, including guitarist/producer Mario Monterosso, the album features contributions from past Panther Burns members and contemporaries like Jon Spencer, Reverend Horton Heat, and Kid Congo Powers. Inspired by the purview of artists whose vision and musicianship have matured, this work excavates the undercurrents of a psyche known for deconstruction of mythic themes of unrequited love, brother against brother, lost causes, and burning mansions. Desire On Ice is a momentary slice of immediate, askew balladry already hurled into the future.

Camargo Guarnieri's catalogue of works represents a legacy of incalculable worth for Brazilian culture, as has his influence as a teacher on several generations of younger composers. His association with the poet and musicologist Mario de Andrade led to the birth of the Brazilian Nationalist School and the ideals of using traditional Brazilian music in classical forms. The series of seven Choros and the Seresta for Piano and Orchestra represent Guarnieri's personal approach to the concerto form, with striking contrasts between potent rhythm and dense, emotionally charged soundscapes and melodies full of Brazilian inspiration. This volume forms part of the first complete recording of the Choros. Artistic director and conductor of the Orquestra Petrobras Sinfonica, Isaac Karabtchevsky is also artistic director of the Baccarelli Institute and the Heliopolis Symphony Orchestra. He was awarded the Premio da Musica Brasileira four times for his recordings of the complete symphonies of Villa-Lobos with the Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra on Naxos. He has served as the musical director of the Teatro La Fenice, the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire and the Tonkunstler Orchestra.

Translucent tan coloured vinyl. 'MIchael & The Mighty Midnight Revival - Songs For Sinners And Saints', a ten song collection that provides a bookend to the 3 time Grammy winning 'MICHAEL' era and puts the speculation about the aftermath of February 4 to bed. Killer Mike states 'This is the epilogue to 'MICHAEL'. This is what comes after Feb 4th. I had a year to live with 'MICHAEL' and realized I had more I wanted to do with this sound before moving on'.
