I decided to go to the nearest Best Buy to purchase an extended warranty on my Sony Walkman MP3, ironically on the last possible day that I could get it. I take it to work and use it at home regularly, so I figured it would be a good idea to invest $40.00 to give me some peace of mind, this Walkman wasn't cheap.
Geek squad service is ok if you have to take it to the store. If you need them to come to the house, GOOD LUCK! I have made 6 Appointments and have had 6 no call no shows. I’ve heard excuses from, the tech deleted the appointment when he made it, it’s too far for the tech, yeah someone dropped the ball. When I told the agent I’ve taken off work 6 times, all you get is sorry mamm would you like to schedule another appointment. Well I’ve bumped my head 6x’s like an idiot. No more, total tech, it was nice to get a discount on support purchases, what’s the point, cancelling it, done purchasing anything at Best Buy, ill let current support run its course and go back to the way I used to shop.
Very much like the Yamaha line of receivers. They are easy to setup and provide a number of advanced features.
My only complaint is that listening almost felt as though the music had been dried out too much within the D to A conversion.
Was able to fix it with a little bit of advanced adjustment but would have loved to not need any changes.
Bought this warranty for a $600 denon receiver. Less than 2 months later receiver stopped working. Brought it back to best buy, where tech was very nice but explained a few KEY POINTS: 1) it will likely take 2-3 weeks after being shipped to Geek Squad warehouse center to diagnose and recommend a decision. 2) if it is NOT Fixable, the GS tech said I would get a refund as a store credit for the amount i paid, not a replacement of the same or equivalent unit. Since my receiver was on sale for -400 off, a refund would put me in the negatives. The Accidental Protection clearly states "replacement" with same or equivalent. I cant get an equivalent with a store credit
