According to the current laws of physics, it is generally impossible to deliver the 100 and 200-mile ranges with a TV antenna. While you may receive signals from farther away in absolutely ideal conditions (a home atop a hill whose broadcast towers are directly on top of another hill with a clear shot between the two and absolutely no obstacles) or you’re inclined to engineer a unique (and probably dangerously tall) setup, then consistent, reliable reception of anything over 70 miles away should not be expected. Please be aware of this issue as many companies will make these false claims just to make a sale. However, you want to make sure your TV has a built-in digital tuner, most newer TVs made after 2009 do. A digital tuner allows a TV to receive digital television (DTV) signals broadcast over-the-air by local TV stations. Check the owner's manual that came with your TV or on manufacturers website. You can also Look on the front and back of the TV for a marking that indicates a digital tuner. It might say ATSC, DTV, HDTV, Digital Ready, HD Ready, Digital Tuner, Digital Receiver, Digital Tuner Built-in or Integrated Digital Tuner. If not, you will need to buy a separate Digital TV Converter Box. Most of your local retailers will sell them.
