Intriguing concept; difficult delivery
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should start by saying I really really like the idea of a mandatory split-screen co-op adventure. This game would be not-so-much-fun if you were playing solo. But with a friend, even some of the goofy game design choices become hilarious in the style of MST3K. Not that it's a bad B-movie quality of a game. It's actually pretty good, once you get out of prison. The first part (for me) lasted way too long, but maybe it's some kind of commentary on being stuck in jail? Anyway, once you get on the road and start exploring, it's a unique experience being able to interact with a friend to accomplish your goals. Other games have done co-op, but it's usually just another person helping to accomplish goals that could be done by one person. This game presents unique challenges that can only be surpassed by coordinating to work together.

One of the best story games out there!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has exceeded my expectations in terms of 1) story, 2) gameplay, and 3) couch co-op. The story was amazing from start to finish. It hooks you in as it starts and makes you choose decisions that will affect the end game. By the end of the game both players will feel as if they had connected with their respective characters in some sense and enhance that experience even more. In terms of gameplay I didn't expect much since this game is story driven, but the environment destruction and the tag team of the duo really makes the game better. However there are some bugs here and there but that shouldn't be an issue since they can always patch that. Lastly, the coop, you can play in the same room or invite your friend to play with you even if they don't have the game. So it saves them money but they can still enjoy a great story. Overall, I give this game a 10/10.

Better than average with a friend
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is ambitious. For $20 you get a whole game and have to play it with a friend. The quality is standard along the lines of an independent developer, the narrative linear and the plot predictable. It's like playing through an old movie, one you're familiar with but still find endearing. If the odd dialogue doesn't intrigue you, you'll find it off-putting and distracting. But those imperfections give this game character and if you can stick it out until the end you are rewarded with an epic ending worthy of your time and $20 investment. Bonus, all the mini games and stuff are great and more fun than you'd expect. Nothing like stopping to play a game of darts or connect 4 while on the run from prison.

A unique experience worth your time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A Way Out is something special. It's not a perfect game with a perfect story, but the experience it offers, and the co-op game play far outweigh the flaws. It doesn't overstay it's welcome, and is a fun ride from start to finish. The game also offers plenty flexibility to find a co-op partner. You can play on the couch with split screen, or online. And the best part is, even online, only one of you needs to have the game, as your partner can still connect with you via an app downloadable from the PS Store. Keep in mind that there is NO WAY to play this single player.

Need a game for couch co-op, look no further!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the makers of a Tales of Two Brothers comes this little indie gem. Though somewhat on the short side A Way Out is one of the most memorable couch co-op experiences I had in a long time. The game does a good job of fully utilizing the two player venue. From team puzzle solving to partner timed button presses, this game goes through every two player possibility you can image. I could talk about the story but the co-op and the way it was excuted in regards to the story makes all the difference. If you like playing games with people in the same room this is a must buy.

A great game, perfect co-op, and some cliche
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is perfect for local co-op, but also offers online co-op in case that's not available to you. It plays well and I enjoyed the story despite its may cliches. Every scene is so different and I've never enjoyed playing Connect4 with my wife more so than in the hospital later in the game. I highly recommend it if you want to have a lot of fun and a little challenge (near the end) with a friend or spouse. My wife is very casual and this put a gun in her hands and a steering wheel during a car chase, and she did really well at something she's been afraid of.

Best Couch Co-op I've played
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I are always looking for couch co op games and this game has had us laughing harder than any other games we've played together. The games starts slow with alot of story to watch. Once you've played for a while you can talk to people that have nothing to do with your mission and it has some very funny dialogue. There is a hospital scene that is one of the coolest scenes I've ever seen in a video game (yes, I've played Uncharted 4). The way it's directed absolutely blew our minds as we were watching it!

Must-buy co-op!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fact that you only need one copy of the game to play makes this worth it already. This game *must* be played co-op, either locally or online. You can play online with strangers via the included "friend pass." Story is cliche at times, but that doesn't take away from the experience of the game. Must play!

Q: QuestionDo you have to play the game with 2 players
Asked by Wayne.
- A:Answer Yes. A Way out is not a single player game. You have to play co-op. That being said, you only need to buy one copy for 2 people to play. You can invite anyone online that does not own the game and it grants them access on your "friends pass" to play with you.
