It took its sweet time, but there is finally a sequel to the cult classic Anchorman, and it actually stands up toe to toe with the first film. Filled with the original cast, not missing a beat in the 9 year span, funny script and directed really well, this is actually worth your time and guaranteed to make you laugh and fall in love again with the characters, or at least a lamp. The PQ sourced from a digital shoot is very impressive with loads of detail in the sets, costumes and actors and very sunny scenes to follow through with the original look of the first film to great effect. The AQ is as equally impressive, with certain scenes with nice bass, surround use and accurate dialogue heard throughout. Following through with the first film, there are tons of extras to spelunk through, including 3 different cuts of the film, spread over this 3-disc set. Disc one holds the Theatrical cut and Extended cut with the commentary with cast and crew, one featurette, 7 different sets of outtakes and alternate lines, and multiple sets of table reads. Disc two holds the Super Sized cut of the film, four featurettes, deleted and extended scenes, Pre-visualizations, audition tapes, music video and multiple trailers finishing off disc 2. Disc 3 is just the featureless DVD of the theatrical cut only and a UV code rounding off this amazing Blu Ray disc. All in all, this is a huge recommendation with hours and hours of extras, multiple cuts of the film, amazing picture and sound make for just an awesome time.

I found the first Anchorman mildly entertaining. So I went into the sequel expecting much of the same. But I let the theatre more than satisfied. This movie is hilarious. Everyone brought their "A" game. And what is great is that with this set, you have so many options on how to watch it. The theatrical cut is the most well rounded of the three. And the unrated cut is pretty similar to the theatrical cut, with some minor adjustments to the jokes. Then there is the Super-sized R-rated version. That version inserts different jokes, extends some scenes, and has a hilarious musical number. And if 3 different cuts of the movie wasn't enough, this set is louded with special features. That is something you don't see much of anymore. And with a top notch picture and audio quality, this is a phenomenal set for a hilarious film.

This guy Will Ferrell is absolutely 1 of my favorites comedians now and of all time, he absolutely promises and delivers so many laugh out loud moments you just won't be able to walk away with a serious face. He deserves to be where he's at amongst Americas best and most very talented people. He is why I recorded SNL when before he was even famous. He gives to you what he's always given to me joy, laughter, and appreciation for his craft, his talent, his courage to get up there and pursue comedy in ways regular citizens would find crazy or absurd so if you guys have a passion or a dream and it seems over the top far fetched impossible just look to him and realize if he's where he is right now just think where you could be if you follow your heart and dreams.

Ever been out with friends and just had a really great time, and then the next week or month or whenever you all get back together again, you try to do the same thing again? You may still have fun, but it just isn't as fun as that one magical time. That is how I feel about Anchorman 2. It was great to see the cast together, and it sure seemed like they were having a good time, but it just wasn't as magical (and quotable) as the first time. It was a decent effort nonetheless, and it certainly had some good laughs, but it just didn't live up to the very high enjoyment I had of the first film. Nonetheless, I would recommend it as a general comedy, and likely if you enjoyed the first one, you already watched this anyway.

It took 10 years to make a sequel to the nearly perfect Anchorman 1, and while this movie is funny and has a LOT of memorable one liners, it just doesn't stack up to the first one. At one point in the film, Ron Burgundy gets injured and the whole pace on the film just gets tossed out the window. After that brief 15 minute interlude, the film gets back on track and finishes strong with lots of great cameos. Surprisingly Steve Carrel and Kristin Wig make the film worse, not better, but the rest of the cast is solid. Getting the regular versions and 2 extended versions in 1 package is pretty great too. Loads of DVD extras as well. If you're a huge Will Ferrell or Anchorman fan, buy it, otherwise a rental would suffice.

Even if you haven't seen the original Anchorman, this movie will entertain you and have you laughing out loud. There is some reoccurring jokes that were slightly less effective this time around so if you did see part one, hang in there it gets funnier and if ron burgundy is new to you, you may enjoy the early stages of the movie as well. As the movie gets going the laughs increase and peak at the star studded news anchor fight which was a recycled joke that not only worked, but was even more hilarious than the first movies' battle. Overall, this is a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and neither should viewers, it is purely comedic entertainment that requires no thinking, just sit back relax and laugh.

If you're a fan of Will Ferrell or a fan of the original Anchorman, you'll probably love the sequel. For me, the movie started off strong with alot of good jokes that had me laughing, but as the movie approached the ending, the movie became less and less funny. There are some jokes that are just dumb to me, but overall, this is a worthy sequel to Anchorman. Will Ferrell has built a career off of "Dumb Humour" and this one continues with that sort of tradition. I thought the movie was good, but not great. It's definetely not better than the first Anchorman(which I consider a cult comedy classic), but it's definetely worth checking out especially if you like the first Anchorman movie or Will Ferrell.

Quite funny, especially during the first half of the film, but the second half sort of drags. If you are a fan of the first anchorman though, I don't see why you would completely dislike this. If you didn't like the first, there's no reason for you to like the second. The best version probably is the Extra long R-rated one, though there are some great things that are different in the Unrated. If you already think the film is too long though, the R-rated one probably isn't for you. If you are a fan of Brick Tamaland you will probably like this one. He has alot more screentime. If you don't like him, you might just roll your eyes out of your head even more than you would normally.
