A: Yes, you can still receive and reply to text messages on the GPS version. I read that you only need the cellular version if you plan to make calls without having your phone with you.

A: I just upgraded from a 4 to a 9. Major differences are you do not have to flip your wrist to see the time. The face is on all the time. The battery lasts a lot longer and the watch has many more features and capabilities. I love the upgrade!
