In their lifetime of friendship, kindred spirits Star (Kristen Wiig) and Barb (Annie Mumolo) remained at one another's side through the challenges and triumphs of life. Yet as middle-age approaches, both women feel the inexplicable urge to explore the world. Armed with their signature exuberance, Barb and Star leave their rural Midwestern town behind to embark on a holiday, their first beyond the confines of their community. Directed by Josh Greenbaum; co-starring Jamie Dornan and Damon Wayans Jr.~Maggie Sadler
This movie will not be for everyone. It's for people who find humor in both the mundane and outrageous and it will jump from one to the other. Like a mix of Napolean Dynamite and Zoolander. Most of the humor comes from how earnestly the characters are played. The biggest surprise for me was Jamie Dornan. He hasn't had a chance to put his comedy chops on display before this (to my knowledge).
This movie is just a rollicking good time. Sit back and enjoy the comedy stylings of Kristin Wiig and her partner in crime so to speak. If you have enjoyed other Saturday Night Live alumni movies then you will enjoy this one too.
This movie is so funny! The blu ray is cool, it has bunch of extras that take in deeper to the world of Barb and Star. If you want to have a good time, have a laugh, go and watch this movie! It will make you happy.
