- A: AnswerThere are two versions of the Yeti. This one, which has an MSRP of about $139, and the professional model, which has an MSRP of about $249, so I'm not sure which one you're talking about that's only $30 more. Perhaps that's the one which comes with the Assasin's Creed bundle? If so, they are the exact same microphone. The more expensive version has an XLR microphone connection at the very bottom, which allows you to connect to a sound board or pre-amp, like what recording studios use. It bypasses the USB input in this case, and allows the higher end sound equipment to do the analog to digital conversion, rather than the USB input. Additionally, the more expensive mic allows for 192khz/24-bit recording, which is DVD quality. This one is 48knz/16bit, which is only CD quality. Of course, what you're pumping the signal into, is going to have an impact on your final product too, so just because one buys the higher priced mic, doesn't mean they're going to have a better quality recording. Hope that helps explain things a little better because I'm not 100% what mics you were comparing.

- A: AnswerHi Samuel. I don't want to lead you the wrong way on this, so I'm weary to say an outright "yes". However, there is a volume-in control that allows you to change the amount of pickup. You can basically set it to a scale of "everything in your house" to "just your voice". The lower you set it, the more your voice sounds like that of a person on a radio... you'll have to get closer to the mic, etc. I was really surprised by how easy this plug in play mic was. It really works great. That said, when I'm recording, I ensure that my central air is off and try to make everything as quite as possible, but it really depends what you're doing with it. A: AnswerI plug in a headphone jack on the bottom and listen on my headphones. I also have a splitter for up to 4 additional jacks. A white blue yetti
Owned for 1 year by when reviewed.Been using this over a year, this is my 2nd Blue Yeti and I am just as satisfied with this one as I am the previous. The previous is still in use by the way,... just on a different computer. So I got this to use on my Mac computer to improve audio quality during work calls, and I feel it does a good job at that. I use it on the table, not on an arm, and it still does just fine.

Superb Sound Quality and Easy
Owned for 1.5 years by when reviewed.The best of USB microphones until jumping into a more involved sound system- imo. I've used this since 2014 and it's always been just right, change the onboard volume control to hear others or hear yourself, mute when you need, and you'll sound great to others. Just watchout for vibrations hitting this.

Old Design But Functional at Entry Level
Owned for 2 months by when reviewed.It's an old design but it works for entry level. I needed an upgrade to the mic on my SteelSeries headset and this does well enough. You can toggle the recording pattern based on your needs, so it works for interviews, solo-recording, and for meetings. The input can be adjusted with Logitech G HUB (this software isn't so terrible anymore). It comes with presets that I didn't find helpful, and the EQ is pretty basic. Signal cleanup has a lot of options though it doesn't explain everything clearly. I ended up using only the de-esser and de-popper and rely on the Steel Series Sonar software for noise reduction, noise gate, compressor, and EQ. The stand is sturdy, but not really that great. I ended up getting an arm for it. The mic was on sale when I got it and I had Best Buy bucks, so it was worth it, but there may be better entry level mics at this point. Paired
