Brightburn 4K
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I watched this film the evening I purchased it. It is directed by the same director that did the 1st Guardians of the Galaxy film. But this film is on a completely different level. Definitely not for the squeamish. I was on the edge of my seat through out the entire movie. Without giving anything away, I hope they do a sequel for this film. It was that good! I gave it 5 stars...

Excellent premise and well executed
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I had high expectations and was not disappointed. It is one of those movies that you like even better when you think about it after. Crisp and clean blu ray with cool extra features. The after the credits could set up a whole universe. Bought a ton of movies for Black Friday.

4k REVIEW: BRIGHTBURN
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Brightburn is a 2019 American Horror Superhero film directed by David Yarovesky and produced by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2, Slither). I won't talk a whole lot about the movie's plot but it is basically a more scary evil version of Man of Steel, but for what it is it's still a very fun flick. I really hope David Yarovesky will continue the Brightburn storyline with a sequel down the road. May not be for everyone but those who are huge fans of the Superhero genre, as well as the Horror genre, and just overall gory movies will definitely enjoy this movie. 8/10 PQ: Picture quality on this 4K disc is great as usual of Sony Pictures. Black levels are solid throughout, the sharpness & detail is there, and the colors truly pop. The HDR10 aspect really makes this movie shine. This is a very vibrant & crispy clean picture quality throughout. AQ: Audio on this 4K disc is presented in Dolby Atmos (Dolby TrueHD 7.1 for those who aren't interested in height speakers) and that track is just as awesome as the picture quality. Bass effects are deep & impactful without being too boomy, dialogue is always loud & clear enough to hear, the surround activity is great, and when appropriate the height activity is so good it'll make you turn your head almost everytime like "Where's this sound coming from!?". This Atmos track is a great listen. Extras: The only extra on this 4K disc is a commentary audio track, all the rest of them are on the 1080p Blu-ray disc. Not much more to say about this. Final verdict: Brightburn is a all-around fun flick and it's kind of a shame this didn't make as much money as the other films released around the same period as this film. Highly recommended.

Many comic books can be dark and so can this movie
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. If you're tired of all these movies acting like all comic books are nothing but superheroes that do nothing but good and never harm a fly, yet when you're a serious comic book reader you realize it's a lot more mature and dark finally a movie that takes you more seriously, if you enjoyed watchmen if you enjoyed the darker takes on comic books, this is a great movie for you. Don't get me wrong some movies are pretty good too, take what they did with old man Logan a messy comic book, that movie (Logan) was great but rather than I do not own any of the other Marvel movies because they're just not for me, I stopped being a kid long time ago I started reading comic books when I was a kid and even then they were darker than a lot of these movies now a days that are, they're fun and entertaining for the masses, but just a bit to kidish for me, DC Usually has a more mature taken these things but lately they've been feeding the masses instead of the comic book readers hopefully they fix that, Some of these new movies like the Joker seem to have a more mature taken in the story telling, which I like, just like this movie, it's not for kids that's for sure, It's not perfect but it's a good fun watch especially if you want a more dark taken to story telling, Pay attention to the end credits hopefully they carry on I'm making more movies like this.

Not All Heroes Wear Capes
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.A rough and tumble villain origin story packed with grit and gore that most cinephiles will adore. It's creepy, it's twisted with a most unusual Superman origin. It's delightfully devilish and bad fun.

Superhero horror
||Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This movie was an interesting example of superhero (or supervillain) horror. As a horror movie, it isn't afraid to show gore, which makes the story more effective. One scene in particular is shown from the perspective of a victim and really gives a sense of foreboding. The HDR was nice but not really stand-out. The audio was very good though. I liked this movie for its uniqueness and hope this isn't the only entry.
