I like having my Brother Printer because the cartridges last longer and are less expensive than those for other printers. However, I am finding that the Brother Black Cartridge that came with the printer had lasted longer than the 2 other Brother Black Cartridges I have bought for the printer. This is not typical as usually the originals are only partials. I am not sure the reason for this but it is not related to how much/often it is used. Do not get me wrong the Brother ink is great and works very well especially for the price. I just hope to find out why the cartridges I buy do not seem to last as long or cover as many pages as the original cartridge. Brother brand products actually are less expensive than their "generic replacements" so I am able to do what I prefer and stick to products from the same brand as my printer. (Again not always the case with other brand printer products)

For the price the brother OEM cartridges work flawlessly. Between my two daughters printing and writing projects, and my wife's art projects our MFC-J475DW gets used and abused a lot, I mean they print lots of stuff!! I have yet to see an issue. It is rare to have printed as much as we have and not had any problems, but so far so good and at this point I am going to stay with the OEM brother ink. Believe me if anybody should have had a problem or issue it would have been my family, and none so far. At this point I will say that I can honestly give this product 5 stars!! I am usually the first one to complain or bring up a problem with a product, but simply put I am impressed with flawless output we have continued to get with brother ink so far.

I don't know, this is incorrect. It's fine for the first month when I use my printer maybe 5 or 6 times and then it feels like it just dries up and it goes out of ink too quickly. I'm not an expert on ink cartridges so I don't really know how to compare this or critique it, all I know is if I don't print very often it dries up and I can't use it. I would have to try another printer with other printer cartridges in order to know if this is a common thing amongst all cartridges.

This particular printer from Brother is a hostage taker. If the color ink cartridges get too low, and, you still have plenty of "black" ink, too bad. The device will insist on you replacing the color cartridges before it will allow you to print anything...even if it is just black. We had just replaced the black and then had to buy color ink. A few days later, the warning messages started on the black ink cartridge again. Fortunately there was enough left to printout the tax returns. Looking for a printer that doesn't hold us hostage.

I had ordered ink online for my brother printer, scanner, etc. I bought an off brand which said it was compatible with Brother printers. After a short period the pages would not print properly. My attempt to clean and align was not successful. I went to Best Buy and purchase original OEM ink. Place in printer and followed the install instructions. After just sending 2 pages to the machine the printing was clear as brand new. Don't waste your time and possibly damage your Brother printer by saving a little bit on knock off ink. Stick with Brother, I was lucky. doug

Brother cartridges provide good black/white and color printout. But they don't last long; either they dry up or mysteriously disappear. I don't need to print a lot; a few pages a month. But after 4-6 months, the ink level drops precipitously and I am required to change the color cartridges too even though all I do is print in black and white. Online review says this happens to prevent "air" getting into the printer head and damaging it. Disappointed that I have to change color cartridges too even though I print in black and white.

This was my first time replacing the black ink in my Brother printer. I bought this printer in part, because of the fair price for the replacement ink cartridges. I have had issues with other printers because the printer may have been sold at a good price but the ink was very expensive. i kept this in mind when replacing my printer. i am satisfied with the quality of the replacement ink as well as the ease of putting in the printer. i also like the ability to only change the color ink that is low and not being forced to buy more.

Not every store carries ink supplies for the Brother printer even though the store sells Brother Printers. However, Best Buy takes care of their customers. If you buy the printer from them, they will carry the necessary supplies to keep the printer going. Besides that good turn, their prices are reasonable. They always have the product in stock. None of this going to the store and leaving empty handed. Best Buy is the BEST.
