While this release is lacking in the extras department and is far from being the director's best film, it should be a no-brainer purchase for Joe Dante and horror comedy fans. The disc features top-tier video quality and a great sound mix that showcases another solid score from Sam Raimi favorite Joseph LoDuca. Joe Dante directs this smaller, low budget film with his typical style and humor, adding in just enough gore to satisfy zombie fans. This is essentially his take on the modern romantic indie film by way of an outrageous, horror breakup story. Highly recommended for Dante fans and those new to his work. After this, be sure to seek out The Howling, Gremlins 1&2... and while it's still summer, check out his original riff on Jaws, Piranha (1978) - all on Blu-ray!

Same actor from "Odd Thomas": also a winner

Likeable actor Anton Yelchin --'Odd Thomas' - another **** sci-fi flick-- returns in this comedy about a guy and his high-maintenance girlfriend. She dies as he's about to break up with her, but she returns to haunt him because they inadvertently made a 'forever' love pact in the presence of an evil genie talisman. I love all the references to spooky old movies, plus Anton Yelchin works at a Halloween shop where he's required to tell the customers to 'go to hell', and his NEW love interest works at an ice cream shop where all the menu items have spooky Halloween-ish names! Great fun! I've had a high-maintenance girlfriend like the one that dies/rises in this flick, and seeing her here again was the REAL horror! haha

This movie was much better than I expected. The right mix of a romantic comedy, and zombie flicks. Max works at a Halloween store and has a snobby girlfriend named Evelyn. Evelyn comes into the shop one day and sees a Genie idle that looks like the devil. She wishes that she and Max will stay together forever. Soon after, she's hit by a bus and appears to be dead. Some time goes by and Max hangs out with Olivia. Evelyn comes out of the grave and lives life as if nothing has changed. Max tries to get rid of her and hide her away from Olivia. If you like quirky comedies and zombies, you'll love BURYING THE EX!!!

I have always loved zombie films so I thought I would give this a try. This movie is really geared to be a romantic-zombie-comedy. It's not the greatest film but it does have funny moments. Anton Yelchon is the main character and he has the dilemma of breaking up with his newly moved in girlfriend and because he makes a wish she turns into a zombie that will not leave him. Give it a try, you may like the movie.

Joe Dante has had a memorable film career, but sadly nothing great lately. Although a fun film, Burying the Ex continues Dante's trend. The 3 leads all do a fine job and the setting is fun, it just never truly shines. On the Blu-Ray side, picture and audio quality are great, but no special features is a big let down. One day, I hope Dante finds and releases his new "Gremlin".

I'm a sucker for Blu-Ray Exclusive movies being released through BestBuy. The sticker on the slipcover makes it very official. Lol! Moreover, the price is worth it; cheaper than Amazon, and release date is earlier than what is advertised on said website. Perfect for movie collection, perfect for anything exclusive.

This movie was better than I thought it would be, but if you compare it to the director"s (Joe Dante) other films I feel like it is ok. I feel like he could have done a better job, but it is still better than most new horror movies. You may want to watch this first before you decide if you want to buy it.
