Infamous meet Remedy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Amazing game, great story and mechanics. This game will be loved by those who have played the inFamous series since it will somehow feel familiar, just without the open-world.

Massively Enjoyable on Console! (PS4)
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I own this game for PC. I didn't really get into it much but I thought it was decent for what I paid in 2020 ($30 on sale). I picked up this PS4 version at BB for the wallet-busting sum of $8 a couple days ago. I am not good at FPS or TPS games when using a controller so I wasn't expecting to play much past an hour before giving up due to controller aiming issues on my part... I was wrong! I still suck at aiming but I opted to leave all the extra aim assist turned off. I realized that if I just took my time and used cover to my advantage, I could get the job done. My play isn't pretty but I got to the first boss-type guy and beat him in two or three tries. I totally surprised myself! I guess patience pays off. So, my first session lasted almost four hours with plenty of dying and running around like an idiot. I remembered a lot of the missions and cut scenes from my time playing on PC. That helped me find things a bit faster than I would have otherwise. I was surprised to be able to enjoy this game on console when I'm so used to a mouse and keyboard as I game almost exclusively on PC. I usually use the PS4 for more casual games like Child of Light and Hellblade or fighting games such as Tekken or Street Fighter. In conclusion, this game is a blast on console! The story was more engaging and I seemed to pay more attention to details than when playing on PC. Maybe it was being more relaxed on the couch instead of sitting on my beat up 'gaming' chair. Either way, I recommend it!

Don’t overlook this one
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This is the most engaged I’ve been with a game in months. I buy literally everything and often find myself bouncing across multiple titles. You know a game is good when it causes you to stop and focus all of your available time and attention on seeing it through. I found myself still up at 4AM after purchasing and for the first time since xenoblade 2 took the time to 100% before moving to the next title on my shelf. I’ll be replaying this for sure and really can’t say much without spoiling but if you’re a fan of a well written story you owe it to yourself to play this one.

Extremely Fun yet Familiar
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Control is a great game. I would not call this a AAA game, but it is definitely a AA game. This is not a criticism, but the honest truth for the scope of it. Gaming needs more AA games that are complete experiences. The story is pretty interesting, and Jesse manages to be a good vessel for the player. Side characters rarely standout, but they are not suppose to over shadow. Game play is really strong yet nothing special. I died probably about 10 times in total. Most all of these were to one enemy type that is nearly impossible to track because it is invisible. Powers are fun and exciting. With fun powers, it makes up for the lack luster weapon design. I got the platinum for this game, and I would do it once more. Solid 8/10 Pros - Jesse - Powers - Boss Fights - Labyrinth Cons - Guns - Invisible Enemy - Hidden Areas - Not enough outfits for Jesse

Really Enjoyed The Gameplay
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed.I would have liked for the narrative to be a bit more cohesive and fully deliver on the premise with more clarity. The story line is abstract and doesn't have a linear flow that you can follow so that feeling of, "what's going on," never really goes away. However, the game play and concept is so innovative and awesome it makes up for the shortcomings in narrative for the most part. It's challenging, thought provoking and really fun to play.

Control is a Beautiful, Flawed Game
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Control is a shooter that also gives the player some powers to use against the Hiss, an invading force that has taken over the mysterious Federal Bureau of Control. You are Jessee a young woman searching for her brother and wanting to unravel a mystery that reaches into the deepest parts of that shady organization. Control is probably one of the most visually appealing games of the year. The developer, Remedy, uses white and red hues with geometric shapes and light and shadow in some interesting ways. It's striking. The flaws come from some technical issues. Whenever you unpause the game, it's slow for a second as the game catches up to what you are doing. There is some slowdown and framerate problems when there is a lot of environmental destruction. Overall, Control isn't perfect in any area, but it's good. It should be on your list of games to play, and I wouldn't let it sit in your backlog for too long. Jessee's journey is one worth taking.

Q: QuestionCan I remove strong language from the game?
Asked by SLMe.
- A:Answer No I don’t think so. There is an option to remove copyrighted music, but not to censor bad language. There is some strong cursing, mostly from the main character
