Dark Places [DVD] [2015]

In the wake of the success of "Gone Girl", this film was sidelined by fans due to lack of proper attention. "Dark Places" based on another work by author Gillian Flynn, offered new ideas in regards to story, plot twist, ephemeral ideas involved in euthanasia, as well as family, blame, heartache, continued existence at the behest of others.

The movie has its twist. However as the title suggests it is no gone girl. I wish that the cover would not state that. It gives the viewer such high expectations of the film. In no means is this bad the acting and story are good. It is by no means a horrible movie just know it is not the caliber of Gone girl. It is actually a rather twisted movie has you at times say wtf. How can someone do this?

Movie was as good as Gone Girl. Great performance from C. Theron and the rest of the cast are very good too. Did not expect much but I am glad I bought d movie to add to my collection.

Charlize does another bang-up job, but I had to take a star off for the depressing nature of the content. Good for a dark night...

Although this movie isn't exactly a blockbuster, it is made very well in the realist sense... Recommended for after midnight viewing...

Charlize is such a versatile actress and she plays this part very convincing. The story starts a little slow but takes you for a very twisted ride. It's nice to see a movie that doesn't try bashing you over the head from the beginning, catering to what seems to be the new generation of moviegoers that want instant and constant action. This movie gives the story time to unfold to a thoughtful and believable ending.

This is #2 in the Gone Girl trilogy and is in keeping with the first with plenty of suspense. Really keeps you going.

This movie is a great idea for a movie but was just a little too slow. Overall it was not that bad "a good rental"
