    Synopsis

    Dead Snow
Eight medical students on a ski trip to Norway discover that Hitler's horrors live on when they come face to face with a battalion of undead Nazi soldiers intent on devouring anyone unfortunate enough to wander into the remote mountains where they were once sent to die. It's Easter vacation, and what better way to spend the break than skiing down the isolated hills just outside of Øksfjord, Norway? After packing their cars with enough beer and ski equipment to ensure that a good time will be had by all, the students set out for their destination and prepare for a relaxing snowbound getaway. Shortly after arriving at their remote cabin, however, the students receive an unexpected visit from a rather suspicious hiker. According to their shady visitor, the Nazis occupied this territory during World War II. In the aftermath of their brutal raping and pillaging, the locals revolted, driving the few surviving Nazi soldiers -- including their iron-fisted leader, Colonol Herzog -- deep into the hills. Neither the soldiers nor their leader were ever seen again. Everyone in town assumed that they simply froze to death. But there's something stirring out there in the trees, and it won't be long until the unsuspecting students discover how the story really ends. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

      Blitzkreig of gut-busting gore

If you're a fan of the zombie movie genre, this DVD is for you. Of course, it has all the usual cliches - partying college kids in an isolated cabin, a chainsaw, severed heads, a horror film nerd who knows the rules for zombie attacks, and a spooky old codger who recites the legend of maniacal soldiers inhabiting the mountains long after the war. However once the mayhem begins, there are moments of inspired insanity. The plot may be onion skin thin and the jokes pedestrian, but the dissonant images of living-dead SS troups advancing through the snow were enough to make me choke on my popcorn with laughter. Also, don't be afraid of the Norwegian language and English subtitles. There are only so many things you can say when you're about to be disemboweled by the undead. Hearing it in a foreign language was no less satisfying.

this is one of the top 5 zombie movies I have ever seen. it has all elements needed, a little suspense, a little action between the young med students on their ski vacation, and alot of gory really unbelieveable deaths. The deaths of people and zombies are unreal, so many different ways they were killed, highly recommend for a zombie movie guy, probably not for someone who is looking to be critical and not a zombie movie lover.

If you're into horror and you haven't seen DEAD SNOW, what are you doing with your life? maybe you should die....and be a zombie....not a World War II zombie though, those things are brutal and nasty. see for yourself and buy DEAD SNOW!! Thank me later. (best buy wont let me say the N word...rhymes with yahtzee, and is totally appropriate to be used in a review of this film)

I saw DS2 on netflix and thought it was a hoot. Focused and Knows What it is Filmmking. It led me to blind buy Dead Snow. Underdeveloped characters/characterization spoil it for me, where the sequel didn't bother with characterization and just got on with the mayhem never bothering to explain the outlandish premise.

This is a goofy zombie movie more so than from Dusk Till Dawn. It is very slow to start and it dosen't build like you would think. But does it have a plot no but zombie movies don't really need one other than people surviving the zombie attacks. There is some pretty gory sceens equal to Shaun of the dead when the guy with the glasses gets pulled out of the bar window.

I would have enjoyed this movie even more if it was in made in English. It was dubbed in the later version, buy you can tell it was dubbed. The second was in English which allowed me to only focus on the content. I was surprised in some parts and the subtle comedic aspects didn't phase in until about 50% into the movie.

I must admit that I wasn't very hopeful for this movie as I scanned through some of the scenes to preview it. I was pleasantly surprised at the flow it developed as I watched though and I had a great time watching it. No, this isn't your hard-core survivalist movie, this is more of a campy, but gory slash film. I think you'll enjoy it if you're open minded.

It is an all right movie. It seemed like they tried to be funny and serious, but it only served to make it fall short of the mark. The gore in the movie was alright and you could tell what would actually not happen in real life. I think the more realistic it is, the scarier it is.
