I’m a Barista!
|Posted .I love espresso as I’ve felt it gives me that extra boost to my coffee experience in the morning. Regular coffee is great, but I’ve felt that my body has grown accustomed to that double-shot addition to my morning routine. I just didn’t want to spend $5 at the coffee shop every morning which adds up. Thankfully, I now can enjoy my espresso shots from home and that matches my budget. After a few weeks of usage, I am impressed with DeLonghi’s 15 bar pump. Pros: -Easy set up: this is my first espresso machine and wondered how easy/difficult it would be in brewing my own espresso. Set up was easy as you are given clear instructions to clear out first with water before using it. The included Portafilter comes with 2 different shot options (1 or 2 shots). The water tank holds around 35 oz of water. -Daily usage: pretty straight forward. You place the amount of espresso powder into the Filter, scooped up by the included Measuring Spoon and Tamper. I went straight for the double shot, using espresso fro Illy. Turing it on, you have to wait about a minute before you can switch the Nobel to the pouring stage. You do have to eyeball how much you want to dispense. Frothing was pretty simple task. Cons: -No Frothing cup or shot glass. I wished these were included in the box. If you want the full experience, you do have to go out and purchase these items. Otherwise, just a large espresso mug would suffice and pouring regular milk from the carton. -Portafilter cleaning: the filter comes out easily, which is both good and bad. I wanted to remove the used up espresso from the filter and thought I can just turn it upside down and shake the espresso out. Nope. The entire filter fell out. It’s best to just place it under running water and clean it that way. Again, wished they had a way to lock in the filter so you can easily empty out the espresso. Overall, this is a very basic espresso machine. It gets the job done and dispenses the espresso pretty fast. Meets my daily needs which is the most important factor.

Mean cup of Cappuccino
|Posted .I had some help using for the first time since I am not a coffee aficionado Great packaging so unit arrived is perfect shape.. We did run water through for the unit as described before the 1st batch. What we noticed is it does not come with all the accessories you would typically use. Something to consider as you shop. (Our helper brought their own set and I am sure you can purchase your own online.) While there is a frothing wand, the cup is not included. I suggest a metal cup with a rubber handle and you need something to put your drink into like a shot glass etc.. The tamp / measuring spoon is an all in one tool and was included. You may also want a thermometer. As a beginner, I will say that this machine worked well and made a mean cappuccino. Our helper did freshly grind the beans which I am sure contributed to the fresh taste. This is an all manual unit, so no bells and whistles, but appears solidly made and nice looking on the counter. Instructions are easy to follow. I like the removable drip tray for not only the cleaning aspect, but the ability to put a larger up under the filter. With the tray you have about 3.3” (85mm) of clearance and without 4.3” (110mm). Steamer worked nice and doubles as a hot water dispenser if you are a tea drinker or you make americanos. Our helper thought it created larger bubbles than she liked at first, but then noticed she just needed to put the wand in a little deeper into the cup to get the frothy results she was used to on the professional units. Clean up is easy as well. All-in-all I would say this unit is a great value for the Cappuccino, Expresso or Latte lover in your family. ~Reviewers in this invitation-only program are provided products for the purpose of writing honest, unbiased reviews

BARISTA QUALITY ON A BUDGET
|Posted .If you are looking for coffee shop espresso or cappuccino or just want to bring the Barista home but don’t want to spend a lot of money then the De’Longhi Silosa is the perfect espresso machine for you. The De’Longhi has become our new espresso machine and we absolutely love it. We are able to make great tasting coffee and espresso with the perfect froth right at home. The De’Longhi Stilosa is a 15-bar pump espresso maker with a stainless-steel broiler for that perfect coffee extraction. The Stilosa comes in a matte black and stainless-steel finish and comes with a filter holder for ground coffee, 1 or 2 cup, measuring spoon and tamper and 1-liter removable water tank and drip. The stainless-steel steamer for the cappuccinos and lattes wand doubles as a hot water dispenser for teas. The drip tray adjusts to accommodate different size cups.

A great gift for someone you HATE
||Posted .Don't recommend at all. Took a long time to clean, directions were unclear, bigger filter was jammed into porta filter holder. 1st, BB website said they had 3 in stock. I drive all the way there only to find out that they don't have any. Went to another store, same problem. Feeling defeated, I ordered it online. So much anticipation only to be disappointed. I'll be sure not to recommend this brand & will try to dissuade ppl from buying it from BB if they insist on getting it.

Q: QuestionWhat kind of coffee/espresso do you buy to make in this? Do you need ground or beans?
Asked by Mom.
- A:Answer You need ground, whether you grind or by ground. It doesn't grind for you. You can use store bought espresso ground - manual says "pre-ground". My husband buys whole beans and grinds himself. We think we shouldn't grind to the finest grind, one less. I use regular coffee but grind it down. You don't have to grind regular down but it makes for a stronger cup.

Q: QuestionHello, does it stop after it’s done making the espresso? Or does the water keep coming out?
Asked by Mh.

Q: QuestionWhat is the importance of the "15 bar pump"? What does this refer to and why is it important?
Asked by Jess.
- A:Answer Hi Jess, "15 Bars" refers to the amount of pressure used to pump through your coffee grinds to create espresso. While some units may carry less, our De'Longhi Espresso Machines are at 15 bars to help you create that perfect shot of espresso. We hope this clears things up for you. Thank you.

Q: QuestionHow to milk froth in this machine? Any demo video for how to use it?
Asked by soruba.
- A:Answer Lots of videos on youtube about how to use a frother. For this one, you turn the knob to the left to warm up the water, then use the switch on the side to turn on the wand, into a cup of milk until it's nice and frothy

Q: QuestionIs this machine very loud?
Asked by Haley.
- A:Answer It’s about the same noise as a Keurig when it heats the water. It’s louder when you use the steam, but you can talk over it .

Q: QuestionCan I make more than just the two shots of expresso on a single brew? For example if I have 4 or 5 people waiting I'm going to have to get new ground coffee and make doubles only?
Asked by expressoperson.
- A:Answer Hi, this unit can only make up to 2 espresso shots at a time. Using the same grounds for multiple uses will result in a much weaker espresso. Thank you.
