A critique of Epson, not print cartridge

My Epson printer stopped printing months ago. First the diagnostic told me that I needed a new cyan cartridge so I dropped $20 on one. It didn't work. It keep telling me to replace more and more color cartridges, which I did. And they didn't work. Finally, Epson told me to replace my B&W ink. I did - and it didn't. Now Epson is telling me to take it to a service center (for which the bench fee alone will be more than a new printer.) So I won't. Instead I went to Best Buy and got a brand new HP printer for $45. I've had my Epson for seven years and have been very happy with it but now they've made me spend $80 for ink I'll never use and cannot return. But Epson should have just told me right away that I needed a new printer. I'll never buy another Epson again. Hoping for much better luck with the HP. I do know many who own HP's and are delighted with them. So goodbye Epson. You owe me $80!

Does the job, but is a step lower than previously

This model replaced my older, slightly lower power Sharp microwave when the old one died. This one has 'simplified' controls which are not as intuitive nor as convenient as the previous Sharp microwave. For example, the old one allowed any length of cook time to be entered in one step, and then started. This one has short times (up to six minutes) set from the keypad with one touch, but longer times require selecting a power setting first, and then a cook time. The automatic additional 30 second selection (one minute on previous microwave) cannot be used in most settings, so when wanting to add time to beverage for larger than the programed amount, you have to wait for the first cycle to end, clear it, and then add additional time.

Only thing not to like is Epson's price

As with all Epson OEM inkjet ink cartridges, the price is very high compared to that of compatibles. The quality, however, is excellent and the shelf life extends far beyond what is stated on the package. The cartridges are very easy to replace and quite reliable. The price is so high that it appears that Epson sells printers at reasonable prices in order to sell lots of high-margin ink cartridges. As long as people, like myself, will pay for OEM cartridges, Epson will continue the high pricing. Epson's warnings have frightened me against using compatibles and I never had.

This is the black replacement cartridge for an Epson printer, it is the only one that Best buy stocks. It is the low capacity version, there is a higher capacity version, #77. There is also a multi pack that contains the other colors needed, but I guess Best Buy don't think they need to stock these anymore. I have to order my cartridges directly from Epson. By the way, their price is comparable to what Best Buy did sell them at.

My inkjet printer of choice has long been the Epson Stylus over that two-letter brand - simply because of its reliability and consistency, not to mention the price. The ink cartridges have always been easy to install, and I've found that Best Buy simply has the best price for all of these cartridges. I never buy the "same-as" or "house" brand, because you can't trust the ink. The genuine brand for me.

I use Epson inks for my professional photography and find them unequaled for that purpose. The Epson Claria inks live in my everyday printer where they perform beautifully as well. Prints and copies are dark and crisp on both regular and higher quality papers. The black ink can't be matched by the competition if one cares about producing impressive a fine looking print job.

Glad to find this cartridge in the store. Epson printer is 10 yrs old and pretty much obsolete. Very hard to find these, but really needed it right away this particular day. Usually have to order the color 5 pack and these online. Pleasantly surprised when sales person found in their stock.

This ink comes in two sizes. The one that I purchased from Best Buy is the smaller of the two available options. The price is a little less, and is a good 'fill in' while ordering more from Epson directly. I wish Best Buy carried the colored ink in separate colors. Rather, Best Buy carries only bundled packages.
