Loaded with function and great price point!

I have never owned a wifi printer, so this was new to me. I was hesitant to set it up because it looked a little intimidating out of the box. I was pleasantly surprised that setup was a breeze. I didn't even need the paper manual because the screen literally led me through setup, complete with animated instructions. Connecting to wifi took a mere seconds. I figured getting it paired with my phone would be complicated, but again my husband and I got it connected and printing from our phones right away (he has Apple, I have Android). I like the cubed design as well. Everything folds in and tucks away nice and streamlined when not in use, so as not to take up a lot of space (or in my home, so no extra doors or extensions get caught on clothes and people walking by). The touchscreen is easy to see and responds well to touch commands, and I like that it can tilt upwards for easier viewing at any angle. Loading the cartridges and paper was much simpler on this machine than on previous ones I've owned. This machine, even though it has a lot to it, was really easy to get up and running and wasn't as complicated as it looked at first glance. The print quality is definitely crisp and clear. I like that you can easily adjust the density of the print from the screen. I copied several pages that were written in marker and the prints, even on the lowest density, looked just like the handwritten one! We tried printing photos from our phone, just onto regular copier paper, and it was super simple and the photo quality was very nice, crisp, and clear...and it printed quickly! I can't wait to see a higher quality print on photo paper, but I don't have any on hand. All in all, this machine is pretty impressive! I never thought that you could get all the bells and whistles at this price point and still get a quality, premium machine, but I honestly feel this will replace my previous machine that I have a strong, over-a-decade-long attachment to. :) I print a lot of photos and artwork, as well as a lot of text documents, so this is going to be fantastic for me! We don't fax often, but that is also a nice function to have, just in case! All said, I did give this machine 5 stars. I truly feel that this is an amazing machine and I am really excited to have it. My only issue thus far is that there is no memory card slot. There is a USB memory slot, which is great, but it wouldn't recognize my phone or my portable drive, so I'm assuming it would only take a typical USB stick, and I don't use those. Not a dealbreaker, but a nice function to have when you print a lot of pictures from a camera's memory card. I will play around with that function more and figure out the best way to transfer, maybe through the cloud? In any case, this is a great machine and I would definitely recommend it! I'm impressed! “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Initial Setup: This is my first Epson printer I have owned and if this is the standards Epson carries on all their printers it won’t be the last. From start to finish the setup process was a little long but it did have a firmware update to complete and that took a majority of the 20 minutes of setup to complete. The actual initial setup was a breeze to walk through. Installing the ink into the printer was also very easy and just clicked into place. Unlike other brands I have had in the past that you must tilt the cartridge one way then snap in and push up, the straight vertical design of the cartridge tray and ink setup was a lot more convenient. The Epson software is also easy to install from disk or simply by searching the model number online and downloading the most up to date version of the software directly from Epson’s website. The software wizard for setup was easy to step through and the choices were clear. Wifi setup of the printer was also very easy to setup. Once the printer was on and running I touched the wifi icon at the top of the screen. Touched my router name and entered the password. Design: The design of the printer is very user friendly and sleek to the eye. All matte black finish with clear and legible LCD touch screen. Paper feeder at the top also allows to be lifted slightly to allow for larger hands to reach in and remove the previous scanned document and clear any jams. The paper tray holds an antiquate amount of paper for my daily use and has a neat feature that allows the tray to pull itself back in once its approximately 95 percent inserted. I could also see this being an issue if your used to pushing a paper tray in all the way as it feels it is not correctly aligned at first. Use: Using the printer is very simple on a Windows PC or a Mac PC. In Windows 10, my current installation, I was very happy that it was auto detected once connected to my wireless router and the driver installed automatically. To use the “Scan To” function of the touch screen it will require that you install the full software. Printing on the unit is very clear, no alignment needed like in the older printers and the color is very vibrant. Full page document of this review size at 11PT font took 5.81 seconds to print. That is from the printer being at idle to completion which is very fast for a smaller office printer. The touchscreen on the printer is also extremely easy to touch compared to others where it feels you have to push through the printer to get it to recognize your touch. Overall the printer is a great design, very functional, and easy to use. The printing feature and scanning are faster than any printer I have used or tested of this size. On a scale of happiness from 1 to 10 I would rate this printer at a solid 10. Great job Epson!!! Great Printer with Laser Quality Prints!

When I received the printer, I had to get my dad to bring it inside, because it was a little heavy. I also had to get him to take it out of the box for me. Once it was out of the box, I grabbed the quick start guide and started reading the instructions. I removed all the blue tape from the printer. There was a lot of blue tape, but I'm happy that there was a lot of blue tape, because that lets me know that all the pieces that are susceptible to breaking were being protected. After I finished doing all of that, I went to install the ink cartridges. I didn't know where the ink cartridges were when I first took the printer out of the box, but I finally found them after I moved the bag that the power cord was in, the ink cartridges were under the sheet fed scanner tray. Maybe they need to be moved next to the power cord bag so they're more visible. I liked that each cartridge was packaged in a sturdy plastic bag that ink couldn't seep out of. I placed the ink cartridges in the printer without any problems. I like that I didn't have to apply any pressure to them like I did with the ink in my Brother printer. The ink installed successfully and then I put the paper in the paper try and that was super easy to do. I skipped setting up the fax, because I didn't want to fuss with having to unhook the phone line from my Brother printer and connecting it to the Epson printer. I will definitely set up the fax at a later time. The last part of the printer installation is the longest part, which is the software installation. I liked that the printer came with a cd, but if you still have software updates during the cd software installation, then maybe just getting the software directly from the website would be best. If you don't have access to internet while installing the printer, then the software cd does come in handy. It took me some minutes to install the software and sign up for this and register for that, but after I got through that everything was working well. I didn't have to touch the manual that came with the printer one time, the quick start guide told me everything I needed to know about installing the printer and that was a good thing. I printed some documents out and the print quality was excellent, it reminded me of when I saw HP LaserJet or Tektronix Phaser prints for the first time and how crisp and clear they looked. I'm really happy to have a printer that can produce that quality of prints. I think I'm going to love Epson Connect. I tested it out and sent an email to my printer and it actually printed it out. I'm going to give family members my printer's email addres so they can print out stuff on my printer and pick it up when they come by to visit. The only thing I think could be changed on the printer is the size of lcd panel. I think it would make things a little bit easier to click on, if the screen was a little bit bigger, which would make the buttons a little bigger on the screen. I thought I had to firmly push on the lcd panel like I do with my Brother printer and I kept wondering why the buttons I pushed wasn't registering with the printer and then I realized that I didn't have to do that, just a light touch to each button does the trick. I could go on and on about this printer, but I hope I gave you all enough information about this printer that will make your decision to buy this printer a little easier. This is a sturdy inkjet printer that will give you laser quality prints that will make you smile and make you feel confident that you're giving someone a print or document that looks great every time. I would recommend my family members, friends, and anyone to check it out. High quality printing, versatile features

The new Epson WorkForce Pro InkJet All-in-One printers are designed to produce laser-sharp text and professional-quality color documents at fast speeds – and are said to be more economical to operate compared to color laser printers in the same price range. The WorkForce Pro WF-3720 ($149 list) that I reviewed is the most compact unit in the group at 9.8-inches high and weighing about 20 pounds. It’s suitable for home use and small offices. Still, there’s nothing small in the printer’s features. Black and white printing is rated at 20 pages per minute (10 ppm in color). Part of the printer’s height is consumed by a 250-sheet paper drawer that holds letter or legal-size sheets – and the 35-page auto document feeder on top handles two-sided copying (two-sided printing is automatic). Standard-capacity black ink cartridges are rated at 350 pages (300 pages color) and the high-capacity XL ones yield 1,100 pages for black ink and 950 pages in CMY. I didn’t run out of ink during the testing, but after looking at the remaining-ink gauges I believe Epson’s estimates are accurate. Setting up the WF-3720 was uneventful and fast. After inserting the four cartridges, the printer takes about five minutes to initialize. Other basic steps such as setting time and fax options are done through the intuitive 2.7-inch color touch screen. I used the printer connected via Wired Ethernet; other options are high-speed USB, Wireless, Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC. In my case, the printer automatically picked up an unused IP address. Then, when I ran the setup software on my Windows 10 PC, the printer was seen on the network, drivers installed, and automatically added to the list of available printers. Since the printer was relatively new, the setup routine also automatically downloaded and installed revised firmware. The Epson Connect Software (optionally installed during setup) includes many ways to print and scan. For example, you can email files to a unique email address for printing. Or you might scan files to an online cloud account (Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive). I tested with my Google Drive and OneDrive accounts without any problems. For mobile users, the printer supports Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. During testing, I printed from my iPad and iPhone through my Wi-Fi network; under iOS 10, the WF-3720 appeared as a printer option and various document types printed without any issue. For day-to-day use, I typically printed from a Windows application, such as Microsoft Outlook or PowerPoint; the Print dialog give you easy control over all the printer’s properties, including quality, color, and paper type. The print quality and speed certainly matched my Dell desktop laser. For a more demanding test, I printed some color images from Adobe Photoshop on Epson glossy photo paper. I believe for all but the most discerning eye, the photo print quality matched my seven-ink color photo printer. I was especially pleased that I got those great results by allowing the printer to manage the colors – there was no need to create a custom printer color profile. There are many other features that probably won’t surface until you need them, such as scanning to or printing directly from an attached USB drive – or a litany of Fax options (60 speed dial numbers, Fax to email). Overall, using the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 was trouble-free. The features, hardware engineering, and software exhibited a lot of thought. The only thing to be mindful of, as with any inkjet printer, is the cost of consumables. Currently, the high-capacity set retails for about $72 and the individual standard ones are $13. The prices may be justified because of the special pigment ink Epson uses along with the print heads that release various-size very small ink droplets – to achieve the quality this printer delivers. Great printer, OK scanner, but where's the ink?

I've been using Canon printers in my home office for several years. I wasn't very pleased with the last one I had, so when it gave up the ghost, I decided to try a different brand. I bought the Epson WF-3720 based on the reviews here. Setup of the printer was easy. I had no problems connecting it to my home WIFI network. I was quite surprised with the quality of printed text. I print a lot of spreadsheets using small fonts and they look crisp. It prints the columns straight (my last printer produced crooked columns.) Most of my printing is grayscale, but the color text I have produced looks good, too. I have not used it for printing graphics. The output "tray" is not really a tray. It's a 3x5-inch piece of plastic that you slide out, with another 3x4-inch wide piece of plastic that folds out from the first piece. Because I usually print on legal paper (which is 14 inches long), I thought there was no way that little "tray" would hold it. I was surprised, but it holds at least 35 sheets, even though the pages look precariously perched on it. A minor complaint - if you load a different sized paper in the printer, then try to print your document, you have to physically go to the printer to respond to a prompt that a different sized paper is being requested and then push a button on the printer to let it know you've installed the paper. It's an extra step in the process. I suppose I could just send the document to the printer before I load the paper, but that would require changing a long-ingrained habit. (Yikes!) The scanner does a decent job, but I sometimes have to scan documents that were printed from poor quality microfilm images, with black pages and white text. The scanner did not handle those as well as my previous printer's scanner. The text is not sharp enough. I assume (and hope) that the ink cartridges that came with the printer were filled with just enough ink to print 100-200 pages of text, because after 1 day of heavy use I was out of black ink, with low-ink warnings on two colors. I had ordered ink from Amazon but it was not in stock and would take a few days to arrive. My local Best Buy did not have any black ink. I had to go to 5 more stores before I could find any. I was not aware that it would be so difficult to find ink. It's hard to find it in stock on the Epson website and Best Buy's website promises delivery to the store within 6 days. I have to make sure I have a backup supply on hand. Since I rely heavily on my printer for work, I've had to spend more money up front to keep enough ink on hand. If I had not needed the printer in a hurry, I would have spent more time researching printers. The next time I need a printer, I'll have to remember to check on availability of ink. I think it's an excellent printer for the price, but the difficulty in finding ink has dampened my enthusiasm for it. Perhaps an Epson Eco-Tank printer would have been better for me. They're more expensive up front but you get a lot of ink.

Epson makes great printers and this is another solid member of the family. Setting up the printer was as simple as following the on screen prompts. The wizard walked me through initializing the printer, setting up a wireless connection and setting up wifi-direct. I had never used the wifi-direct function from my Android phone before and it was surprisingly easy to do. I have always had problems printing from my phone before with an previous printer I had but this printer made it simple. I added the SSID of the printer to my phone, input the passcode and it connected right away. Sending documents from both a tablet and my phone worked right out of the box. I printed a page form a .pdf and it rendered the document perfectly. Next I took a picture of a knick-knack my wife had in the study and it printed in color from my phone. The color was well rendered and matched the item well. Most color printers tend to wash out the colors to save color ink but this printer handled the picture like a champ. I used this for my home office printing for most of a week and didn't have a single paper jam or hiccup. The print for documents renders black and white well and grey-scale documents had good color definition. I estimate that I printed close to 100 pages of print and the last page was just as good as the first. I haven't had this long enough to gauge the amount of ink that will be used per cartridge but the ability to change just the black cartridge without having to buy a full set is a great feature. Overall I was really impressed with the features and abilities of this printer. It handled everything I sent to it perfectly and worked flawlessly for my needs. I have attached pictures of print examples, hopefully they will show as well online as they did in my study. Great MFP

Summary: The installation of this printer was quick and easy. The printer was packaged in a way that made it extremely easy to remove from box- whoever thought of the plastic bag with the handles to lift the printer out of the box deserves a raise. The printer takes up much less desk space than other MFP devices. Printing was tested on Windows 10 and i0S and both went off without any issues. There were no issues installing the drivers or software needed to make the printer function. This printer is faster than most MFPs and has an overall excellent print quality. I am a huge fan of the fact that you can email documents directly to the printer with zero delay, regardless of where you are at (you do not have to be home or attached to the same wireless network). In my honest opinion, this is a great option for a MFP and I would recommend it to others. Setup: As mentioned above, the MFP was easy to remove from the box as it comes pre-packaged in a plastic bag with handles, making it easy to lift out of the box. The entire printer is secured in the box, so be prepared to spend some time unpackaging and untaping everything, but it will be worth it in the long run when you have a good quality printer that works well. Menus are easy to walk through and set preferences on everything. As I said, just be prepared to spend some time getting everything set up because although it is easy, it is a long, slow and drawn out process to set up. Scan: Scanning was easy. You have the option to scan using the ADF or the flatbed. However, you are unable to scan duplex from the ADF like you can when printing from there. You have multiple dpi options in driver settings. Overall, the scanning feature functions like you would expect and hope a MFP scanner to function. Print: I was shocked by how fast this printer actually prints. There were no smeared ink spots- only clear, concise typeset. You also have the ability to print duplex or single-sided. I also like the fact that I can have this printer set up on my work computer and can access it, even while I’m connected to my VPN. Previously, I have not had much success in attaching to outside printers while connected to the VPN, so this was a plus in my book. I haven’t printed any photos yet, but given the quality of the images, I can’t wait to give that a try soon. I love the fact that this printer is a wifi printer and that I didn’t have to do anything to set it up on my phone- it was readily available to print without me having to download anything extra on my phone. Final Thoughts: This printer is an excellent printer for the money and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheaper, high quality MFP for home use. At this point, I couldn’t be happier to own this product- its great thus far. Easiest Multifunction Printer to Install !!!

The Epson Workforce Pro – WF – 3720 is the easiest multifunction printer that I’ve ever set-up! I followed the quick start sheet without any issues, until I tried installing the scanning features on a Windows 7 computer, more on that later in the review. The wireless network was recognized right away and I had had to do was input the password for the network. (There is a way to do this from your router…) Downloading the application software and drives is a no brainer; there is also just a driver package if you don’t want to use the Epson software. Installing the printer cartridges was very simple; I inserted them into the appropriate slots and then allowed the printer to calibrate the print head. I didn’t have any difficulty installing the drivers and software on my new Windows 10 desktop and I was printing, copying and scanning with no problems. Documents printed crisply and very professionally; pictures and images printed fast with vibrant colors and my scans matched the originals. This is a very fast and capable multifunction device and would not have a problem recommending it to everyone… BUT! When I tried to install the scanning drivers and software on a Windows 7 Pro desktop, I was unable to ever get the scanner to work and save scans. I tried everything I could think of and I have over 25 years of IT experience. This made me bring down an almost 5 star product to a 4 star. So, to recap I found the Epson Workforce WF 3270 to be a very capable multifunction for a home office or just home. Printing over the wireless network is fast. Copies are perfect and scanning is almost as fast as our dedicated document scanner. I think as long as you don’t try to use this on Windows 7 Pro you’ll be pleased with this product. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3720 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”
