Awesome HRM and run analyzer
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI use this while running and doing various workouts to track heart rate and get the added benefit of run metrics. It really helps me see how my run quality is and I can use it combined with elevation, pace and other data to work towards adjusting my stride. It has helped me fix my uphill runs so that I can work more efficiently instead of just putting one foot in front of the other. I see how my vertical oscillations and left and right steps work when I get more of my body involved to help gain momentum. One major drawback is that this HRM is ANT+ which the apps that I use frequently like Map my Run are less compatible with. I just sync my Garmin Connect to the 3rd party apps and the data gets transferred that way; Wahoo's app apparently works but a lot of my friends are on MMF so I don't want to change. I wish the apps and iPhone would recognize the ANT+ technology more readily although the extra info I get from this HRM is worth it.

Works Consistently during workouts
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have had trouble with HR monitors not keeping consistent, accurate readings. This one has worked very well for runs and bike rides. Only issue, is that I wish the band was more comfortable, I have had issues with irritation after long runs near the clasp.

More accurate than optical
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Accurately, Ease of useI would recommend this to a friendI bought this for my wife because she felt her optical sensor on her garmin watch was not as accurate as she would like. Turns out she was correct. This chest strap is much more accurate as well as comfortable and easy to use.
Brand response from GarminProductExpert
Posted .You should not see a significant difference between a chest strap and OHR. For troubleshooting an inaccurate OHR reading, plese go to support.garmin.com for FAQ's that may address this issue. You may also reach out directly to our product support team from this page.
