Raunchy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."Girls Trip" is another "women can be raunchy too" comedy, that is both entertaining and wild. Very funny, great script, exceptional chemistry among all the stars. Often this doesn't come thru but all actors (male & female)represented very well.

Best Comedy of 2017
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Girls Trip, is sure to draw comparisons to Rough Night from naysayers, and while their general premise is the same (friends from college reuniting), the similarities end there. The comedy genre can be a hit or miss most of the time. What one person may find funny, the next person may not, which is why comedy is layered and the R rated comedy will always be a mainstay. Girls Trip has achieved what previously R-rated comedies released this year failed to do, and that is stick with its audience long after the credits roll. Four female friends, known as the “Flossy Posse,” reunite for a wild weekend at the Essence Festival. Regina Hall plays Ryan Pierce, a self-help author and leader of the group who while successful has a philandering husband, played with just the right amount of dogism by Mike Colter, of Luke Cage fame. The rest of the ladies, Sasha (Queen Latifah), Dina (Tiffany Haddish in a breakout performance) and Lisa (Jada Pinkett Smith) each have their share of problems as well. Sasha is having financial trouble, Dina just got fired from her job, and Lisa is a divorcee of two years who has forgotten how to have fun. Despite their problems, it doesn’t stop them from reuniting to support Lisa, who happens to be the keynote speaker at the Essence Festival. The script written by Kenya Barris & Tracy Oliver who previously collaborated on Barbershop: The Next Cut, gives each lady a chance to shine, which can sometimes be rare in an ensemble comedy. I spent the majority of the movie laughing out loud, as the jokes came at a rapid pace. It’s always refreshing to see a comedy where ALL of the good jokes aren’t in the trailer, and that is the case with Girls Trip. Director Malcolm D. Lee once again shows he can effectively juggle four successful African American friends on screen, as he did with the males in The Best Man movies. The strength of Girls Trip is in the film’s heart and the chemistry between the leads and the male characters aren’t underwritten or wasted either. Memorable supporting work comes in the form of Larenz Tate, a friend of the women from college, and Malik (Kofi Siriboe) who serves as a love interest for Lisa. While the film’s two-hour running time may turn off some viewers, I never found myself bored with the movie. No matter what your ethnic background is, you will find something you can relate to in Girls Trip. With meme ready jokes, memorable one liners, and cameos galore (including one from my favorite music group), the film is easily the most fun I’ve had at the movies this summer and one of my top films of the year

Is a TRIP!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Truth be told, this was a must purchase for and by my Wife. Not that I’m a fan of comedy, just not into what I considered to be a girlie movie based upon the cast of actresses. Duh!! I was dead wrong on this, this movie was hilarious, funnier than I could have ever imagined, l haven’t laughed so hard in a long time watching a comedy. It really was done creatively, a little life lesson on keeping it real, trusting and believing in your peeps. My hat off to the Directors and Producers, as well as the All Star Cast of well rounded artists that are at the top of their game in what they do. Purchase this movie, you won’t regret it!

great comedy
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved, loved, loved this movie. Why? Writing and acting was superb; the women remained the main characters throughout with strong male supporting actors. Though truly all women leads are perfect for their role, Tiffany Haddish stretched humor from the female gaze to new heights. Scene after scene she consistently surprised us with a comedic truth resulting in a long belly laugh. The script and actresses weren't afraid to go where most comedy for women would never dare go. Then, as sappy as cliches can get, Regina Halls' final and poignant speech did indeed challenge me to examine my own level of personal authenticit

Great Chick Flick!!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always wanted to see this movie and never made time to see it. I was walking through Best Buy on the movies on sale and said oh I have to get this movie. Boy did I make a great decision. The movie had a great story line and ended up being so hilarious I couldn't stop laughing. It did have some serious times also with strong women/ girls/ best friends growing up together and being there for each other when it was really needed! Check it out you will enjoy it.

Raunchy, Funny & Heartwarming Story
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I thought this movie was going to be terrible. There haven't been many great comedy movies. Where those movies failed this movie successes & crushes the competition. This movie is one of the best movies of 2017 & should have been nominated. I could name cast members like Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah & Regina Hall who were all amazing. But there is standout actress who steals the show her name is Tiffany Haddish she is naturally funny & she is so relatable. I would highly recommend this movie to adults because this film is really that good.

Hilarious, friendship, Girls fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hilarious movie of friendship, support and encouragement. Most can identify with one or more traits of the characters, success, mother, entrepreneur, loyal friend. Would recommend for a friend. Due to language and topics, not for children. I was able to see the movies at the theatres. While I enjoyed seeing with my sister in law, I did not allow my 17 year old son watch. I had to see it again! The movie to bring out over and over again for the lift me up!

Awesome movie for Grown Folks!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie is not for the oakey dokey. There are so many "Ohhhhh Myyyyy's" that I was almost sore from laughing. Awesome characters and they compliment one another. This is not your typical movie for the squeemish so if you have never been to the heights of fun in your life...strap up your boots and enjoy the ride. I would give this movie a 20 if the highest score was a 10. The humor is amazing!!!
