- A: AnswerNo, you cannot watch video by default unless you side-load an app that allows you to. To be honest, it's not worth it with the small circular screen. This watch is for looks and function, not entertainment. You can also browse the web by side-loading an app that you to, and that is slightly more functional than videos, but barely. In terms of texting and emails, you can text easily using the messages app the comes on the watch, the same Google messages app that most people use on their Pixel phones. It even has swipe-typed and pretty good autocorrect. It also does voice-to-text. Emails are another story... There is no default app, but I believe there are some on the play store as well as some you could side-load. All in all, this watch is for someone who wants style, health metrics, and to be able to leave their phone but still stay on top of notifications, most importantly texts and calls. You can take calls directly on the watch as easily as text. It's also useful if you use assistant a lot for home devices.

Q: QuestionDoes this Google Watch have fall and car wreck detection?(3 answers)
A: AnswerThanks Steph, so your answer about fall & car wreck detection. Its a shame that Google didn't want to include these 2 features. It seems like I read they want a monthly subscription for them. I pay monthly for Google Fi Wireless Phone Plan, YouTube TV and have a yearly subscript to Google One/Back up and Store. Not paying for a watch subscription.Answered by MikeEubanks

Would've been near perfect with a bigger battery.
For reference, this review is written by someone coming from a Galaxy Watch 5 44mm. Having followed the rumors about this watch, I was led to believe this watch was going to be the worst watch ever, given the small battery, big bezels, old processor, bla-bla. However, it has pretty quickly become my favorite watch. Software fixes most of the issues the hardware has. First, the design and display are stunning. The dome-like display looks beautifully modern, to say the least. Without an app highlighting them, the bezels are invisible. The display is sharp and colorful, but it is a little small coming from a 44mm watch. I found it really easy to get used to, however. One of the issues with the design and display are the big bezels. I truly thought they were going to ruin the experience, but the UI is designed to hide the bezels. Google did a good job at this. However their efforts are undermined by third party apps. For example, the Chevron app(picture #2) and its all white background actively highlights the big bezels. As of now, it is the only app I have that does so, so I won't let it affect my rating, but do keep in mind that not all third party apps look pretty on this watch. Performance is another thing many people were quick to bash this watch over once rumors showed an old chip, but Google clearly went through a lot of effort to optimize this watch. The system UI and first party apps are insanely smooth, with no lag or stuttering. My old Galaxy Watch 5 with a far newer chip would always lag and stutter when scrolling tiles or using the digital bezels to scroll the UI. One place the Galaxy Watch was a little faster, was loading third party apps, however. Opening my 2FA app or App In The Air, for example, takes a second or two longer on the Pixel Watch. Fitness features have been taken over by FitBit, and I've been loving it so far. Tracking seems to be accurate, and GPS locks on fast. One thing I might note is that Google has not activated the SP02 feature yet. I can only wonder why, but hopefully we'll see that soon. With everything else good, it's time to touch up on the not-so pretty part of this watch, the battery. Google claims 24hrs, and that has been accurate for me, but I have also disabled the Always on Display and the Hey Google activation. With these off, Tilt-to-wake on, hundreds of notifications a day, about 1hr of GPS exercise a day, and sleep tracking, I am left with around 15% before I need to recharge an hour before bed time. Including sleep tracking time, I use my watch from 00:30-23:00 usually. Now, it lasted a full day, sure, but missing out on the Always On Display is a little disappointing. I don't NEED it, but I do like it on during formal events, as it makes the watch look a little nicer. Also, with AOD, tilt-to-wake, and Hey Google on my Galaxy Watch 5, I'm left with around 50% during the same time period. I could go an extra day, or if I turned off some features, maybe 3 or 4 days. I hope Google improves the battery with the next one, but, as is it's ok. The battery is why this watch isn't 5 stars however. Charging doesn't exactly do much to remedy the battery issues. The watch uses a 5W charger, and it's taken about 1hr 15min each charge for me. If the watch had a 10W charger like the Galaxy Watch 5, combined with the puny battery the Pixel Watch has, charging times would have been far better. Overall, unless you need multi-day battery life or a larger screen, this is probably the best Wear OS 3 watch to get taking the design out of consideration. As for the design, style is different for everyone, so that part is up to you.

Comfortable and functional, but battery..
Great smartwatch. If you want to just charge it once a day: You have to make some modifications to save battery. For it to last longer. Take into consideration I use my pixel waatch mainly to receive notifications from apps such as whatsapp, messenger, text messages, and other in cellphone apps notifications (uber etc..) and I track my workouts for 30 minutes and i track my sleep. Usually it charges fully if you let it charge for 30-45 minutes. It could last longer, but you would have to choose a very minimalistic face (each face affects the battery life differently). The original bands are very comfortable to wear all day. i do not take it into the shower with me since I usually get extra juice for my battery when I am showering. It works perfectly with fitbit and pixel pro 7. I attached a picture of the face i use.
