    Synopsis

    Hitman: Agent 47
Agent 47 (Rupert Friend), known only by the barcode tattoo on his neck, is an elite international assassin. Engineered to be an unstoppable killing machine, 47 is contracted by a covert organization to assassinate high-profile targets on a global scale. He's given the assignment to kill the leader of a crime syndicate who wishes to unlock the secrets behind 47's powers and harness that information into an army of highly skilled hit men. As 47 races to complete his mission, new information emerges about his origins and sparks a race against time as the agent is hunted for the secrets behind his skills. Aleksander Bach directs this reboot of the 2007 action thriller Hitman. ~ Daniel Gelb, Rovi

American-German action film directed by Aleksander Bach and written by Skip Woods (who also wrote the original Hit-man film) and Michael Finch. It is based on the Hit-man video game series, developed by IO Interactive, and its main character, a mysterious assassin known only as Agent 47. The film stars Rupert Friend, Hannah Ware, Zachary Quinto, Ciarán Hinds, Thomas Kretschmann, and Angelababy. The plot of the movie focuses about an assassin who teams up with a woman to help her find her father and uncover the mysteries of her ancestry. Together, they aim to take down the leader of Syndicate International, a terrorist group based in Singapore. Believe me from start to finish this movie was Absolutely Breathtaking. Finally,I gotta thank 20th Century Fox For This Great And Must See Movie.

A bigger but not quite better sequel.

Let's face it, the appeal of the first film in this apparent franchise (Hitman) was that the videogame that spawned it was already successful. The casting was more than capable and the action scenes were done well enough to make that film a financial success. Now Hitman Agent 47 comes along and tries to make lightening strike the same place twice. The action scenes are bigger but almost less believable and Zachary Quito is a bit of stunt casting, but because Rupert Friend has replaced Timothy Olyphant, the acting matters more and both performers do as well as can be expected given the nature of the film. Bottom line, this film won't disappoint fans of the first film, but, it is not the sequel this franchise needs in order to continue.

While I was initially frustrated about inability to play the native 4K, the movie itself was action packed. The Blu-ray Disc was of great quality and I appreciate the 4K upgrade of the current players..... HOWEVER, I was unaware that the 4K disc would NOT play in my CURRENT "4K" player. It was not until I contacted Sony when I was informed that none of their players are designed to play a "native 4K" disc..... I read that Samsung has one... Sold out online..... Luckily there were 2 discs in the 4K DVD AND I used my awards to reduce the $30 price tag AND again the movie was AMAZING so all is well. I'll wait for Sony to release their player.

First of all, like many I really enjoyed the Hitman games growing up. However these movies today do very little to follow and offer any semblance to those games. In all fairness it is pretty hard to match a movie to a video game and do it justice and make it fun for everyone. So with that said the movie on it's own is fun imaginative and action packed. Two new leads for this franchise offer a lot of hope for the future. This could have very easily just been a stand alone action movie devoid of any video gaming connection. I enjoyed it and I think the causal fan will too.

I've never seen any movies with Rupert Friend in them, so I was a little skeptical at first. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. Popcorn movie about a boy genetically engineered to become Agent 47, a deadly assassin. He gets involved in a race with a man calling himself John Smith to find Katia, the daughter of the man who started the agent program. The action sequences are fun to watch, and there's a twist at the end in case there's a sequel (no spoilers here). I also enjoyed this more than the other Hitman movie starring Timothy Olyphant.

Good action despite being a bit formulaic.

I bought this film mainly for the lead actor, Rupert Friend, whom I had seen in Homeland, on Showtime. (He is excellent in that show.) His Hitman character has a lot of similarities to the agent he plays on TV, in the cold-calculating sense. The supporting actors do an admirable job as well and there are a few twists in the narrative that add to it. The action can be a bit over the top at times, but keeps the viewer interested as the story moves along at a fairly quick pace. Basically no regrets buying this, on sale, as a good "Popcorn" movie.

the movie is about a himan who is looking for a scientist, but needs the help of his daughter to find his werabaouts. the scientists daughter is being hunted by a company who wants the same man. the hitman wants to help the company wants an army. whoever finds the girl first maybe will find the scientist.the scientist had the knowledge to make more superhiman. who will find him first? there is alot of action in the movie to sustain the pallet. i thought the movie started off slow, but got better as it went on.

The casting bothered me the most. Not that the character is a mega-leading emotional powerhouse, but even Spock has more emotions than this Rupert Friend. There is a "nod" at the end to the original pointing at a probable sequel. Which could be an interesting proposition. No spoiler here. Action sequences are better choreographed and more "creative" in this installment. For a "check the brain at the door" flick, the movie is respectable. Worthy of watching if you know what you're signing up for.
