Cool, fun, practical… Amazing!
|Posted .Verdict: This scooter checks all the boxes for me: it is fast, it has great battery life, it has music speakers, it has cruise control, it is foldable, and it is reliable. It is the funnest item I have gotten from Best Buy in years. First impressions. As I was unboxing the scooter, I didn’t expect it to be so heavy (35 lbs). This is common for scooters I guess, but I just didn’t know much about scooters. On the other hand, all the components look to be heavy duty and quality, so I am happy to deal with the weight if this scooter will last me for years. Assembly consisted of just adding the handlebar and unfolding the scooter; I finished in just 5 minutes. I probably should have charged it first, but I couldn’t wait, so I jumped on as soon as it was ready. It had about one third battery left, which was enough to enjoy for a little while. The manual says to charge it first, so don’t do what I did! Ride. To get going on the scooter, you first need to get it rolling by pushing off and then gently pressing the trigger. Upon first use, I had to get used to the sensitivity of the power trigger, and getting use to the turning and the speed. Within 5 minutes, I was riding it full speed everywhere. Acceleration is decent. Stopping power is ok, with the brake handle feeling somewhat stiff, but I suspect this will get better as we break-in the scooter. The scooter feels very stable while riding slow or fast. The scooter has a speed mode that allows the scooter to go up to 18 mph. Having two speed modes is nice because my younger daughter will only use it on the normal mode because she knows that it won’t go too fast (12 mph), and my older daughter and I mostly use it on speed mode. I was able to get up a pretty good hill without a problem, albeit at a slower speed (7 mph). On a very steep hill, the scooter could not get up on its own. However, with just a bit of assistance from kicking (like on a skateboard), it was able to get up the steep hill. The scooter advertises an 18-mile range but I didn’t get to try it up to its full range. In all, this scooter is a world of fun for adults and kids. Features. The scooter has a decent headlight, which is a feature you may not think you need, but the day you need it, you will be very happy you have it. I used the scooter at night several times for fun, and also to test the headlight. While it could be brighter, the headlight is bright enough to see what you need to ride safely. However, you may want to go a little slower when riding with the headlight at night if there are no other ambient lights. The scooter also has a speaker. I didn’t think I would use this feature, but we absolutely love it now. I used it a few times, but my kids must have the speakers on every time they ride. It is their favorite feature from the scooter. The speaker is plenty loud at full sound, and you can hear the music even at full speed. However, depending on where you are using the scooter, using it at full sound may be problematic for bystanders. When using the speakers at about half sound, you can still hear the music when you are cruising at about 12 miles per hour. At full speed, you will not be able to hear the music if the speaker is at half sound. The scooter also includes a cruise control mode, which you can activate by pressing the trigger twice when you reach your desired speed. This is a very nice feature so that you can cruise at slower speeds without having to worry about pressing the trigger or having to worry about how fast you are going. As soon as you brake, cruise control is disabled. Oh, and the scooter has a bell, so you can signal that you are coming through! Things I love. - Stable ride - Convenient kickstand - Sturdy build and high-quality parts - Great features: good-enough headlight, loud speakers, and convenient cruise control - It’s foldable! I may actually take this on the train and use it to get to work from the train station! It will save me a 10-minute walk - It’s fast enough for me, and I love that it has two speed modes - It is very fun; just make sure you wear a helmet! Things I don’t love. - The brake lever is a little stiff, and I think breaking could be better. It has nice disk brakes, so maybe they just need to break-in - Fully charging the scooter takes a while: 5 hours. The range should be enough to have fun on the scooter without having to worry about charging it on an outing… but if you ran out of battery, it would be a bit tricky - It’s so fun that I think we will buy another one… and they are a bit pricey, so I don’t love that for my wallet Conclusion. This scooter is the funnest thing we have gotten from Best Buy in years. It’s the new favorite gadget in the house. The features are excellent and it rides wonderfully. While it is not cheap, it is clear that you are buying a quality scooter. We highly recommend the Hover-1 Alpha-Pro scooter.

Just Plain Fun....
|Posted .There will be a lot perspectives and reviews, but not many from a 60 year old who never really grew up. The Hover-1 - Alpha-Pro Electric Folding Scooter is just fun to ride. Takes about 4 or 5 hours for a full charge and I got most of the advertised speed of 18 mph (I got 16 mph and 15 miles) and distance of 17 miles on a full charge. The max weight is 265lbs and I weigh 245lbs. The Hover-1 - Alpha-Pro Electric Folding Scooter weighs 37lbs and folds easily for storage or transport. Fits easily into my Accord trunk which also houses a 12" sub cabinet. There are 2 speed modes one for regular cruising andnthe sport mode which adds a little kick of speed. The LED headlight is bright and although the unit has reflectors anda bright tail/brake light, I wouldn't recommend riding at night along public thoroughfares; too many jerks so best to be safe. One important thing, buy the best helmet ya can afford. A certified Bell or Pro-Tec is available for under $50 bux, and be honest you're worth it, aren't you? I Ike riding early or at sunset for relaxation. There are no shock adsorbers but the 10 inch air filled wheels ain't bad and are pretty efficient. The Hover-1 - Alpha-Pro Electric Folding Scooter is fun for all ages. So have a little fun. Cheers

Best Electric Folding Scooter
|Posted .This Hover folding scooter is one of the best ones that I have ride so far. The max speed is 18mph when riding on high speed and on low speed max is 12mph with a distance range of 17 miles making it a fast smooth ride for me to commute to work some times , it takes at least 5 hrs to charge and last me pretty much all day. The 10” wheels, the wide platform and the easy to control handlebars with LED display makes this scooter fun and easy to use. When using the led controls you can see the battery level, speed and turn on the headlight, there’s also a setting for cruise control. If you would like to listen to music from your phone, you can connect your phone with the scooter Bluetooth speaker, is not a great sound but it’s fun to have, specially if you don’t want to use headphones while riding the scooter for safety reasons. The scooter breaks are pressure sensitive so make sure you follow the instructions on how to stop. Remember to start the motor you must give a strong kick just like you do to a skateboard, then use the throttle to speed. Besides the speed , one of my favorite features is the led blue lights on the platform. Specs : Net Weight 37.48 lbs Max support Weight 264 lbs Min support weight 44 lbs Speed up to 18mph Max distance up to 17 miles Motor power 450W brushless Battery voltage 36.5 V Battery capacity 8.25 Ah Speaker 3W Open size ( 45.0 x 16.9 in x 47.7 in) Tire size 10” inflated rubber Brake Handle activated rear disk

Excellent fun scooter!
|Posted .I have never had experience with scooters, so this was a first for me. I grew up in the 90s so rollerblades were the "cool" thing back then, and bmx bikes with pegs. Anyways I have been wanting to pick up an electric scooter, as I figured it would be fun with my dog to take her for walks (which it is!). This thing is a bit heavy, but is worth it and built well. Out the box setup was very easy. Its mostly pre-assembled. The steering column/post thing is folded down so you just need to fold it up and snap into place. The only "assembly" is that the handle bars/brake piece on top needs to be attached to the steering column using the 4 screws and wrench they provide. You do also should heed the instructions and charge this for the 5 hours or so as it indicates. I tried to take it immediately outside for use after assembly as I was eager to try and out, and while it did work (I had about 2 bars of battery), I live on a hill so it left much to be desired. It was pretty slow. BUT, I let it charge overnight as directions indicate, and took it to a local park the next day. On flat surfaces, this thing is AWESOME. It has 2 speeds, and the ability to turn on the "lights" with a simple double tap of the start button. When you turn on the lights, it turns on a semi bright led headlight, the Hover 1 logo on the board you stand on, and there is a blue led under board glow. For speeds I would imagine they vary depending on your weight, but for me (I am a 6' 205lb male), on high speed at the park I was able to get to 18mph in a straight line (awesome!) and about 12mph on the slower speed. The slower speed is still good, and if it was the only speed on this scooter, I feel I still would find it highly enjoyable. But the faster speed is definitely where it's at if you can get to a park or somewhere with flat services. That's where this scooter shines. Bringing it back home and trying it again near my house which is all hills, a full battery definitely helps. I can still make this go and have no trouble attacking hills, it's just obviously not as quick. I'd say up hills on the high speed I was able to get close to 10mph. Overall this is an excellent scooter. I used this for about an hour straight on high speeds for 2 days and it still had plenty of battery. Have not tried any other scooters but this was FUN and made me feel like a kid again using it. Very easy to use, has some welcome features, and even has bluetooth. I did not get to try this feature out yet but I don't see myself needing it. While riding you should not be distracted and be fully focused on your surroundings. It also has a bell near the brake which to me is cheesy and not something I would ever use as an adult. I guess maybe it's for when you are passing people? For a kid sure but I just don't feel like this scooter is catered for kids? It's expensive and I would just get my kids a regular non electric scooter. Anyways this is a highly recommended product!

Steering column snapped
Posted .This was the best scooter, until the steering column snapped while my son was riding it. We had it for two years, or ridden during the winters, and right above the front wheel, the steel rod connecting from the wheel axel to the steering column snapped and the wheel fell off. Super not happy this would happen with a $500 scooter. Nothing like that has happened to my razor garbage scooter.

Bad
Posted .I have had to replace this scooter 3 times. First time, it’s back wheel popped after less than a month on flat pavement and the manufacturer did nothing to help me. The told me to buy a $200 wheel and repair it MYSELF. Second time, the throttle broke as I was about to leave for work and looked like they put it together with wood paste. Third time, the platform broke in half Biggest waste of $500 I have ever paid.
