solid, non-repetitive sequel
If you are a fan of the 2010 remake, this film will be very satisfying to you. The Jenny Hills character returns, and in a very realistic fashion, having survived the horrors of the first film. This film explores the consequences and aftermath of the 2010 remake, and does so without re-hashing the 2010 script. I cannot stress this enough; this movie, as well as the other 2 I Spit On Your Grave movies, ARE NOT FOR KIDS, PERIOD. Make absolutely sure that the youngsters are in bed and asleep, or spending the night at Grandma's before watching. If you have the stomach for it, the entire franchise, including the 1978 original are highly recommended. Great revenge tales.
I Spit On Your Grave 2010 was one of my favorite films 5 years ago. I looked forward to finally seeing a remake of the original and the 2010 version exceeded my expectations. The second film (not a direct sequel) was good but not near the first. Now we have the third in film in the series and I'm happy to see we get Jennifer again dealing with the events of her past from the first film. Although not quite as good as the first, it has great moments. This was a blind purchase for me and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it for the fans.
I was pleased with the return of Sarah Butler in the lead role. Her performance was the visceral force of the 2010 remake of ' I Spit on Your Grave '. However, this time around the story just didn't have that same spirit. Seeing Jennifer devolve into a violent criminal w/ homicidal tendencies was a bit of a letdown. I understood the 'vengeance' part, especially with what happens to her friend ( among others ). The social commentary on the plight of assault victims is sadly a reality for many people ( young girls, women, & males ). It is heartbreaking. As it pertains to this movie, though, it takes a backseat to Jennifer's selfish gratification... which may very well be the point of this character's arc. Recommend for those who are fans of this franchise.
The movie follows the main character and shows the effects of PTSD after what she went through from the first movie. She is caught in a battle between being aggressive towards those who have ill intentions when they see a female they like. It was obvious to see where this story was going and how it woukd end.
This film is a must see for fans of the 2010 film!
This film is excellent. As a fan of the original 1978 classic as well as the 2010 movie and its sequel, I can say that I easily enjoyed this film. There is an aspect of the film (later on) that is reminiscent of the phenomenal (Ms. 45). The formula of this installment has been changed. So don't expect to see a repeat of I Spit On Your Grave 2. This film in my opinion is superior, and is a direct sequel to the 2010 release. If you liked or loved that movie you definitely want to see what happens next with Jennifer Hills!
