    Really covers the lens

When shopping for a lenscap, the one thing I demand is that the product cover the lens. This one certainly fit the bill. I put it on the lens and -- BAM! -- covered. No delay, no waiting for it to warm up or anything. It just works. Then, I went out and did some light gardening, took the kids and the dog to DQ for a Hot Fudge Blizzard, ran the dog over to the ER, had the car cleaned inside and out, and returned home to find the lens still covered, much to my relief.

I picked this up as a replacement for my Canon lens cap because a Canon brand cap was not available in store. Not only was this cap less expensive but I find that it "holds on" better than my Canon. I think it's probably due to the Insignia cap having a stronger spring and deeper, more pronounced ridges.

One of the first things that I purchase when buying a camera or lens is a spare lens cap and a string to attach it to the lens. You never know when you'll lose both items. If you do, your lens is vulnerable to dust, scratches, and whatever from the elements. Treat your camera well and it will provide years of service.

I have a canon and I lost all my caps for my camera which left my lens unprotected. I went in to the store doubting that they would sell something so small and if so it would be expensive. But in reality it was fairly cheap compared to how much I would have paid for a canon brand or even buying a new lens due to scratches.

When I went to Best Buy to buy a replacement for a lost lens cap, I was disappointed that I couldn't get one with a Canon logo on it to match my Canon camera. I got this one because I needed one and I was pleasantly surprised. The grips on the side work great for removing it from the lens and it fits nice and snug. I actually prefer this cap over the Canon one now.

The wife needed new covers for her DSLR camera as she lost one or two. These were the right size and fit securely. Was just what she was looking for. Only complaint would be price felt a little high, but that's more about the general pricing and not that BB was overpriced. I guess once you've bought a 500-1000+ camera, a $8 lens cap seems the norm...

This lens protector is a more secure cap. The Cannon one came off unexpected on a hill in monument Valley AZ. I was unable to pick it up. I am very pleased with the substitute lens protector that Best Buy has made as a universal cap.
