Awesome concept, doesn't seem to track well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JaxJox Smart Kettlebell is an interesting workout device that will give you the flexibility of multiple kettlebells in one compact unit. I felt sorry for the delivery guy as he lugged this 50 pound compact box up my driveway - and met him at the door to take the load from him. I opened it immediately and assembled the unit, plugged it in and began the setup process. I had a little trouble pairing the device but it eventually got it to work. I forgot to mention to download the JaxJox app to connect to the device. It looks nice, selects the correct weight without issue, seems sturdy and safe to swing around without a weight flying out of the bottom. The app is nice, give you examples of things to do as I'm not the most familiar with KettleBell workouts. The first thing I did was 10 Kettlebell swings, and I set the device back on the cradle. After a few minutes it updated the app with over 20 reps and 2 sets. Hmmm. It seems to do this for any of the workout moves I tried. You can see from my app screen - and I only did 2-3 minutes the first time. Perhaps a software update will rectify that in the future. That's the main reason for my 3-star rating. Overall, neat device with lots of possibility!

Nice kettle bell!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This kettle bell does exactly what it is advertised to do. It helps you work out and gives you options to vary the weight you lift doing it. The item came well packaged and was very easy to assemble. It comes with the kettle bell housing, multiple stack-able weights, and a base that it all sits on that give you control over the weight. I charged the unit with the included cable when I received it. It appears both the base station and the kettle bell have internal batteries. This is nice because I was not limited to placement by a plug. Each weight has a number on it which shows you how to stack them. Once stacked on the base, you slide the kettle bell over the weights, select your desired weight, and start lifting! The kettle bell has an internal shaft that spins to pick up the selected weight. While working out with this product, it felt very sturdy and well built. I think this product will last for a long time. This product will save you from having multiple sizes of kettle bells laying around. While it is expensive, it does give you another feature that normal kettle bells do not. The kettle bell connects to you phone via bluetooth. You can keep up with reps and see recommended exercises on the app. The only thing is, this product isn't cheap. Some people may steer away due to cost, but you won't receive this much versatility with any other kettle bell out there. All in all, this is a great product!

Easier & more convenient than free weights.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JaxJox KettlebellConnect Smart Kettlebell is the perfect workout companion for just about any workout involving weights. It’s easier and more convenient than free weights which allows you to stay focussed on what matters most, your workout! I used to workout with a pen and paper to track my reps and sets. As you can imagine, and may be aware, it’s very time consuming and difficult to stay on track while you’re trying to workout because you’re trying to challenge yourself but also remember the reps so that you can write it down after you complete a set. It gets even more difficult when you’re doing burnouts and don’t want to set the weights down so that you can keep going to challenge yourself even more. Oftentimes I would lose my place on my reps or forget if I completed a set or a rep and wasn’t sure if I wrote down the correct rep and set. However, it’s important to correctly track your workout if you plan to challenge yourself and build strength, endurance and or muscle. Well the JaxJox KettlebellConnect takes all of the guesswork out of your workout. It allows you to keep working-out while it tracks your workout progress for you to review later. In-fact, the most difficult thing I found when I first starting using the JaxJox KettlebellConnect is the name; JaxJox is such a tongue twister, lol. I used the JaxJox KettlebellConnect on day one after I set it up. It does a really good job of tracking you’re every rep so you don’t have to worry about tracking it yourself. I like that multiple people in your household can use it, up to 9 people, and each person can have their own workout plan and IQ fitness tracked. I have been working-out consistently for the past few years with weights but I have no experience with using a Kettlebell. I actually had to look up the benefits of kettlebell workouts and I found a lot of useful information on the benefits of kettlebell workouts. Once I was interested in the benefits working out with a kettlebell, I decided to give the JaxJox KettlebellConnect a try. I quickly discovered that it was not only worth the investment but it is helping me to take my workout to the next level. I am able to use my JaxJox KettlebellConnect for all of my workouts throughout the week. It allows me to get a good weight workout with an element of cardio burn as well. I find that my heart rate is elevated and I am sweating more and burning more calories. The Kettlebell fits perfectly with my other weights. I was concerned at first with the even pounds in weights as all of my other weights are odd (i.e. 5lbs, 10lbs, 15lbs, etc.), while the JaxJox KettlebellConnect weights are even (I.e. 12lbs, 18lbs, 24lbs, etc.). But I found that this adds the little extra challenge I need when I don’t want to increase an entire 5lbs I can simple use the Kettlebell to add a smaller incremental change to my challenge and work my way up. The JaxJox KettlebellConnect is heavy when it’s all together as a unit in the box so I had mines delivered to my home. It was well packaged and everything was separately placed in its own section which made it easy to retrieve and spread out, on the floor, for assembly. It is made of good quality material that appears will last for years as I plan to get some really good use out of it. I like the contrasting colors of the black and neon green. Everything you need to get started is contained within the box (except for the device(s) you plan to record your workouts, i.e. cell phone, tablet or watch). There is a lot to like about the JaxJox KettlebellConnect right out the box. Assembly is easy as everything has an identifying name and or number. Not only is it easy to assemble, but throughout the process, you will know that you are assembling it correctly as everything has a place and fits well together; nothing is forced. You will hear a sound (a beep) letting you know that it is properly assembled and every time you place it on the base and change between weights you will hear that beep letting you know it’s safe to remove the Kettlebell from the base and use it. I like that the top Kettlebell Shell fits either way as it makes it easy to set it back on the base when your changing weight. The instructions are easy to read and well put together; each step is well thought out. The pictorial schematic are well drawn and easily matched with the written instructions. I found that certain steps were contained within the instructions, were repeated again in suggestions and then again in the safety warning area. Some were repeated twice, and others a third time. I think this is a good idea as it is a clear warning and of importance and will stick with you longer and keep you safe. Most people won’t return to the instruction manual unless they have a problem so you’re more likely to remember something if you read it a few times. The JaxJox Kettlebell comes with an accompanying app. I was able to locate and download the JaxJox app easily. I didn’t know at the time of purchase, but there is also an Apple Watch app as well. The JaxJox KettlebellConnect works seamlessly with the Apple eco system. I like that it synced my data from a month ago from my previous workouts that were recorded in my health app. It also works with other operating systems as well so if you’re not an Apple person it will work with any phone, watch or fitness gear you own. The set up via the app was extremely easy, as well as the account setup and registration process. You’re able to sign up with a valid email and unique password that you create. The app clearly explains everything so I didn’t need to seek out additional help or ask questions from the JaxJox team for additional explanation for assembly or use. You are simply guided along with simple choices you select to get started. The app has some great “how to” visual workout videos. There are plenty of workout videos to help you learn how to best use your kettlebell and get the most out of it and your workouts. You should not get bored using the JaxJox KettlebellConnect. After I read the instructions, assembled the Kettlebell and downloaded the app, I was ready to start my workout, but I didn’t see anything about how long it takes to charge or how often it needs to charge. I didn’t see anything about how long the base has to stay plugged in and does it have to remain plugged in all times or does the base and shell have a battery inside that will last X amount of time. I later moved the unit without it being directly plugged up and everything worked fine. I am assuming there is a battery in the base and the Kettlebell as the base appeared to be changing and monitoring two battery levels. I also wanted to know how far could I be away from my phone and did I need to have my phone near by? I wanted to know if I could workout with just my Apple Watch or did I need the phone as well? Nonetheless, I just connected the JaxJox KettlebellConnect as instructed and began the setup process via bluetooth and my cellphone. After I connected it, I then wondered how far could I be away from the base and my actual workout space. I decided to just use it as I normally would use my free weights during any workout and the Kettlebell worked fine and tracked my workout completely. It appears the Kettlebell has the same bluetooth parameters, so I had all of those questions that I thought should have been addressed in the instruction manual when all I needed to do was use it normally like I use my other weights. They made it that simple with ease of use. Overall, the Kettlebell worked fine with all of my regular weight workouts and fit seamlessly with my high intensity workouts. I actually noticed that I burned more calories using the Kettlebell than without. I can see that I will be using the JaxJox KettlebellConnect for most of my workouts throughout the week because of it’s convenience and ease of use. But I contend that it’s much more easy and convenient than my free weights. It is neater as you have all of your weights in one place and don’t have them scattered all over the workout floor, you can change weight faster than the traditional methods and when you’re done you can just set the shell back on top and walk away with no weights to straighten up and to put back in place. I am so pleased with the JaxJox KettlebellConnect that I am considering purchasing more JaxJox equipment to add to my workout agenda. The JaxJox KettlebellConnect is worth the investment, not only in the product, but in the investment you are making in yourself. Give it a try and I’m certain that you will feel the same way too.

Solid Kettle Bell with some Drawbacks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I have a collection of kettle bells that we use at home during our exercise routines. Although they're basic kettle bells, we started to run into the issue of space. That was one of the reasons I was interested in trying out the JaxJox Kettle Bell Connect. The promise of being able to replace all our existing individual kettle bells was promising since space at home was becoming a premium. First thing out of the box is a warning - make sure that you let the Kettle Bell is done adjusting weight before trying to pull it off the base. What is cool about the Kettle Bell Connect is that by using a series of plate weights, you're able to set a customized weight for your workout. Fair warning here - kettle bell workouts can hurt you if you're not familiar with them, so I'd recommend being cool with kettle bell workouts before investing in a home solution. Once I got the weights, unit and base out of the box, I set to charge it up. While it charged, I downloaded the JaxJox iOS app and synced my kettle bell. One of the cool features here is the integration with Apple Heath. I use my Apple Watch to track and measure my exercises, so I'm glad that I can use the kettle bell, do some workouts, and I get the credit for it in the JaxJox app as well as the Apple Activity / Health apps. But you're probably wondering why I rated this as a 3 star item if it sounds like I really like it - well, here are my concerns: - The price, at $300, this thing isn't cheap. If space is your concern, then it might be worth it to you, but if space isn't a concern, then I'd say stick with traditional, analog kettle bells. - The App itself is a bit clunky. Several times, it just spun at "syncing data" when I tried to open it. I ended up just abandoning it, starting my workout in the Apple Watch and going from there. I get the credit in my Apple Activity rings, so that's cool. - Some of the videos were very basic - if you're new to kettle bell workouts, they might work for you, but again, I'm not sure who'd be jumping into a high-end $300 option for their first go-around. - Because this is a kettle bell, you need to be cognizant of where you're exercising. My house is mostly tile, so I'm relegated to the rooms that have carpet - I can't imagine dropping or putting this thing down roughly and cracking or breaking tile. - The unit itself is a bit bulky, owning to the fact that the weights sit up inside the unit as you exercise. This can be a bit overkill in size if you're only doing a workout with, say, a 2 pound weight. If you're a home fitness junkie and love kettle bells and you have some extra cash and you have a space constraint, then I'd say go for it. If not, then you might be better off with something less fancy to get you started. I would recommend this to anyone who liked to use kettle bells for at home workouts.

Great concept, App/Pairing needs work
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The concept behind this piece of exercise equipment is great, but the app is where this fails in my opinion. The fact that i can get multiple weight settings (12-42 lbs) with just one kettle bell is awesome and saves a lot of space in my already crowded workout room. Switching weights, literally took seconds to do and couldnt have been easier. While this has great potential, the exercise tracking is where it let me down. I have multiple apps that I use for tracking my workouts and i use my Apple Watch as well. I tried pairing the kettle bell to my iPhone X, 11 Pro Max and Google Pixel XL and I wasn't successful at any of them. This is the reason i gave it 4 out of 5 for the overall rating. The JaxJox website has some great workouts that can be used with the kettle bell and if you have a smart tv with a web browser in your workout room, you can watch them online or you can just use your phone. If the app connection wasnt a necessity for me, i would easily give this 5 out of 5, but until i am able to pair and track my workouts, its just a 4 for me. I would still recommend this.

Great Kettlebell Good App too
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's tough to find kettlebells these days and JaxJox fills that void. The app is decent and works with little isue for me. The kettlebell is a little bulky, but after using it, I prefer the fell to the normal kettlebell you find in a gym.
