    Synopsis

As you take in the pleasant view outside your window, it's hard to fathom that it could all be swept away in the blink of an eye. For Artyom, however, there's no need to imagine — after the devastation of an apocalyptic event, the only hope for salvation lies in the darkness deep beneath Moscow in the underground. The Metro franchise introduced you to Artyom's world as you plunged into the survival horror genre with Metro 2033, then kept you riveted in the action-packed follow-up, Metro: Last Night. Now, get ready to return to the terror and brutality that defines this hellish world on a first-person shooter thrill ride that tests your will to survive in every way.

Metro Redux includes Metro 2033, the terrifying first chapter of Artyom's struggle for survival in the ruins of his city, as well as Metro: Last Night, the heart-pounding continuation. The nightmare begins in Metro 2033 as Artyom, a survivor of an apocalyptic event 20 years in the past, is forced to leave the relative safety of Moscow's underground and emerge into a world populated by murderous mutants and full of toxicity and danger around every corner. As if the world outside wasn't horrific enough, Metro: Last Light brings the terror underground as Artyom struggles to save humanity as it perches on the edge of civil war and ultimate destruction. Struggle for survival armed only with homemade weapons and your trusty gasmask as you fight your way through two action-saturated campaigns with all-new melee animations, plus hours of thrilling DLC. Immerse yourself in the bleak world of post-apocalyptic Moscow with stunning imagery rendered in silky smooth 60 fps, as well as new lighting, physics, dynamic weather effects and full-body player animations. Take charge with improved AI, controls and weapon handling and easily check your watch and ammo supplies on the fly. Prepare yourself for slow-burning intensity in Survival mode, or duke it out in brutal combat in Spartan mode. Rise to the ultimate challenge as you wage deadlier battles with fewer resources and without the benefit of HUD or UI in Ranger mode. The odds are bad and the stakes are high — do you have what it takes to save what's left of the world?

I waited for this game to drop down to 25$ to pick it up, and honestly It was far more than worth it. I loved the first metro when I got it on PC and never got last light until this redux'd version. Last light met my expectations of a metro game and introduced more mechanics and elements expanding on the original. But we are here to talk about the redux, not just last light. For those who played the original metro, this redux'd version plays very similar to it, but with a few notable changes. these changes are minor cosmetic changes such as picking up all the supplies in a stash instead of each piece individually. The most disappointing change was the removal of the armor system from 2033 in the redux. this isn't a big deal, but I was hoping more for a game updated visually without touching the game's mechanics. Because there is no stealth suit or heavy armor the stealth plays more closely to last light and the health i can not tell for sure, but I know you can not have the same protection as heavy armor. For those who have never played the metro series, this game is not for everyone. Focusing on the combat, you have the choice of a stealth approach or all out firefights. supplies can be little and far in between depending on what difficulty you play on. The shooting is solid and satisfying as is the bits of chatter you will hear between soldiers as you are sneaking around them. Overall I love this game and is an instant favorite for those into stealthy FPS games that limit your resources.

Fun Shooter RPG. Both Games are a bit manipulative, and sometimes you cant figure out what is needed to proceed in game. Went on line a couple of times to find out how to proceed. Died a lot because of not really knowing what I was doing. I was Playing in SURVUVAL MODE....Less Ammo. BUT ....Cant wait to play through again now that I know what I know. It will be less frustrating, and I will have more time to look around, and absorb the game better. The New And Improved Graphics Were Great, story was good. It was fun. Also had trouble switching from Metro 2033 to Metro Last Light on my Xbox One. It would only go to the first game screen. I finally had to erase the first game in order to get onto the cover screen where it gave you a choice on which game to play. Probably my ignorance on using my XBOX ONE. I didn't run into any glitch's, but one needs to watch the save points because if you are not close to one and then quit the game, when you go back on it could throw you back farther than you want to go. I will be playing both games again. METRO REDUX is a Classic.

I played Metro 2033 on the Xbox 360 when it came out several years ago. I thought it was fantastic. Creepy atmosphere and engaging storyline. For Metro Redux, the development team completely rebuilt the game (Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light) to include new content, graphics, and other features. I have played the first few levels of Metro 2033 with a friend and we were both amazed at the quality. He went and bought the game the next day. Now I only have one minor gripe at this time, and it's very minor. I do love how you can now play the game in other languages (Russian, French, Spanish, etc) with English subtitles. I decided to play with Russian language and English subtitles. The main storyline and interaction captures the Russian language with appropriate subtitles, but any background discussions as you walk around your base camp do not show subtitles. So you will walk by people speaking in Russian, and even making remarks to you, but there are no associated subtitles. I might switch back to English (with Russian accents) to get the full effect. Overall, these are two fantastic games and I highly recommend them in the Metro Redux package.

Based on Russian novel on fictional characters: set in a post Chernobyl event which much of Russia is devastated by a nuclear fallout. As a result humans can't survived on the radiated atmosphere thus must lived in the metro tunnels. Story telling is rich and well paced to keep the player on their wits against unspeakable horrific creatures which dwelves in the dark metro tunnels and on the surface. A struggle between good vs evil as you play the character Artyom who is struggling to find out about his past and helping his fellow survivors fight to survived each day. Graphics are excellent as well as the voice acting. The developer managed to tie together the events of the first part of the game to the second game called metro last light. A very well made game which was a sleeper hit on the current Xbox 360 and PS3 console. I highly recommend this game to anyone who wants something original in story telling, resource management, great graphics and voice acting

I was elated to hear this game was coming to next gen consoles. I was upset to hear that the original didn't live up to expectation despite the great story. I was happy they went through with the sequel and that the work was put in to making its way to next gen consoles. I think it's important to return to middle market, lesser known titles. Considering we are in a new generation of consoles, I hope this title gets the recognition it deserves. I enjoyed the level design, the weapon customization, creature effects, the fact that bullets can be traded as currency. The attention to detail is impressive. Of the series, I had only played Metro Last Light so it was interesting comparing and contrasting my experience from my 360 to my Xbox One. This release makes me want to read the Russian cult hit it was based upon.

I've primarily played FPS games, but I simply could NOT get into this one, or, these two? This game includes both the original AND the sequel, both of which have received great face lifts. I tried both of them, and applied multiple days into the first game, Metro 2033, but in the end, I just could not find myself involved enough to keep going. Though the graphical quality has dramatically improved, as well as the UI (user interface), I found it odd that the NPC received no reprogramming... They do not react to gunfire, don't react to receiving damage, and honestly don't feel right... They have a very stale feel to them, which translates quickly to the gamer... I would love to say that this game was great like so many told me before I purchased it, but... I just couldn't get into it... :(

Metro Redux is snazzier version of the last gen versions, what with improved graphics, tweaked gameplay mechanics, and added DLC. This is not just a game, it's a story, 2 of them in fact bundled on 1 disc. The atmosphere is creepy and interesting and the story keeps you going, trying to survive a wasteland filled with monstrous baddies. If you like shooters with a narrative, this is worth picking up. The upgraded graphics of this game from the last gen games made a huge difference on an already solid looking game and the story just hooks you in more. Plus, based of a real book series, it's got reading material that can be used in conjunction with it too. Get it!

Metro has been a surprising blast for me to play. The story and nature of the game had me immediately glued to the game - I played for 4 hours straight on my first try. The pacing, dialogue, and setting are that good. It also has a bit of a horror element to it, but not an uncomfortable amount - I was sweating from the tension and eerie moments, but was never truly scared (I bought this game for the story and shooter gameplay). Ultimately, I was expecting the game to be good, but it exceeded these expectations. With two high-quality games at $50, there is no better value in a shooter game on the next-gen consoles (yet).
